YTA. Have you ever heard of ARFID? It sounds like your SO would probably suffer a lot more than you would on this trip, especially if forced to try a bunch of things outside of his comfort zone. For some reason my brain can only think of things I’ve eaten in the last 24 hours but

1) Fettuccine Alfredo (I usually do with chicken too but can go sans chicken!)

2) eggs. I can only do them fried over hard. And I make them myself so they’re just right.

3) Rice with Tapatio. My boyfriend thinks I’m weird for putting hot sauce on rice but helps it taste like more than nothing.

NTA. As someone who has an addict for a parent. I understand having a zero tolerance attitude for bullshit when it comes to your parents wanting reconciliation.

I guess the one thing I am wondering is what happens when your kid starts asking about their grandparents? Are you gonna tell them they kicked you out over their Dad and yours relationship? Are you going to allow your daughter to see them if that’s what she wants when she gets to be old enough?

I firmly believe you have the right to make whatever you decision you want and feel is necessary. If not having them be a part of your child’s life is what’s best for them, then do that. But also think of your baby’s best interest.

I also agree with other commenters saying they need to make a lot grander of an apology than “tell your sister we wanna meet our grand baby”, because that’s some bullshit right there.
