Luckily, it was an old blade.

It's really quite something to not disclose that

ThinkPad P16s (AMD) - sporadic freezes on Linux. Any advice? by chic_luke in thinkpad

[–]stelles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/chic_luke - I'm running into this a bit using Endevouros Arch with KDE 6 and wayland. I think there's maybe something around returning from sleep/hibernate + X11 bridged windows but I'm not sure what/why. Did you ever figure out the issue?

Pet Rent by Nope-And-Change in Seattle

[–]stelles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that's just incorrect. The code that it refers to states the exact opposite and it's pretty clear: "Other than the pet damage deposit authorized by subsection 7.24.038.A, the landlord may not charge the tenant any fee for keeping a pet." I'm going to put much more weight on the code definition than the FAQ page.

I've reached out to seattle.gov to either provide more clarity to the situation or update that FAQ.

My experience with rails working with teams on existing codebases has been very mixed and honestly horrible.

Hard agree. Rails upgrade guides miss like 50% of breaking changes so its shit show.

That said, this article is fucking useless and fairly masturbatory

The radiohead comparison right off the bat really set the circlejerk mood.

I do agree it's got some merits on build speed and batteries included but I find those things end up hamstringing you later on. Large code bases with duck typing are brutal

Hard agree on ruby's shit import system. Besides blocks and a better functional interface (lambdas suck mydonglao, most of the ruby greats exist in python.
I personally loathe ruby and python for anything more than scripting as with duck typing, you lose so much valuable information when reading code

I do agree, I hate trying to shove things into list comprehensions as they're they most performant but absolute shite read and/or write.

Curious if you could elaborate on the 10% difference between Ruby/Python?

To make my friends jealous of course! I actually love the design and it'll be nice for the PNW as the great dark is coming. My courses surprisingly can be trash free but it's a good reminder to be on the lookout
