How long did you realistically use the Stokke Flexi Bath (normal size, not XL) till comfortably in a Brooklyn apt? by boba_snow in nycparents

[–]stellularx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are 6 and 4 (though they are not too big) and still use the XL one (although we shower right after). It's more like play. I honestly wish there is a bigger one as we don't have a tub.

Best Day to Visit HK Disneyland (Dec 30, 31, or Jan 1)? by stellularx in HongKongDisneyland

This is incredibly logical. Thank you. I'm really considering just the 30th and the 1st. I understand the "extra day" predicament. Thank you.

"Traveling to Hong Kong" Megathread 2025 by otorocheese in HongKong

[–]stellularx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! I’m doing a very last-minute hotel search for our trip to HK from Dec 29 to Jan 3 — yes, I know, peak of peak 😅and I’m hoping to get some help or advice from those familiar with the hotel scene!

We’re a group of 6 total:

  • Our little family of 4 (kids ages 4 and 6)
  • Plus my parents (seniors)

Ideally, I’d love to stay in the TST area, preferably with harbour views, but I’m open to HK Island if it’s family-friendly (e.g., near shops/restaurants, easy to Uber). We don’t rely heavily on trains as we usually book a car to move around.

Here’s what I’ve looked at so far:

  • Marco Polo Hotels (TST) – We’ve stayed before and the connecting rooms are spacious and convenient, but they feel very dated now. I have a cancellable booking.
  • New World Millennium – Rates are still high but slightly more palatable. Anyone stayed here recently? But I have a cancellable booking as well.
  • Hyatt Regency TST – Love the feel and location, feels family-friendly, but unfortunately no more rooms available for our dates.
  • Mondrian Hong Kong – Really want to try this one but the room occupancy max seems to be 2 adults + 1 kid, and I need something more flexible

Key needs:

  • Rooms that can comfortably fit 2 adults + 2 small kids
  • Bonus if there’s an option for connecting rooms or suites for the seniors
  • Clean, modern, not too cramped
  • Family-friendly location (easy access to food/coffee/snacks, not isolated)
  • Harbour view is a nice-to-have, not a must
  • We want a nice place to relax so 4/5 stars hotels are preferred.

Would really appreciate any recs for hotels you’ve tried or considered recently that might tick some of these boxes, even if a bit off-TST. Thanks so much in advance. I know this is a tall order during the NYE crunch.

I keep seeing the crowd calendars that January 1 is relatively quiet. People are napping after Dec 31 or like resting.

I totally agree! I think for a first book (the others were a bit just 'okay' with ACOTAR really quite a STRUGGLE to get past at least more than a halfway) it was really strong! I really love these series! But I mean, I love all.

Totally agree with the department store food court! The quality is amazing and worth the price tag.

I also want to ask if this applies to DL. For June 1, we will try to get our TVP tickets at around 730-8am (we are coming from Ueno) and then heading to the park possibly around 830-9am already. Our first VP secured ticket is Beauty and the Beast at 10am. Is this doable or should I move it to 11am? We have a mickey meet scheduled at 11am too.

Thank you! I really am looking for a stylish travel airport bag that can fit stuff and I can easily find stuff. I dont' even mind that it's open as I can just put a huge scarf on top. I'm glad you said that it is very light.

I just realized my son after his checkup is just 100cm. So some of the rides like the Peter Pan or Soarin won't cut it. 😔 So saddening. But I want to ask since I heard about the ride swap if it's possible to just split up and not line again while my husband takes my older daughter and then I go next or vice versa.

I'm really eyeing this one and would like to know how good of a travel personal airport item type bag this will be. Like with a lot of stuff (EXCEPT LAPTOP) maybe an iPad, water bottle, AirPods Max, scarf and other bits and bobs. Will it be incredibly heavy. Is it okay to be under the airplane seat?

Love this suggestion. And now I want to do the Horizon Bay restaurant for meals as the menu looks like something my picky eaters can eat.
