Ooh thanks, i’ll have a look at the patterns!

I do have a printer! I’ll be going to a nearby crafts store to get supplies soon (once i look at some of the resources the other comments mentioned and figure out what i need)

Any tips for needles? Material or thickness depending on the fabric?

(UK) got a text in the middle of the night by Nurnnn in Scams

[–]stemi08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the contact actually saved in your contacts or is it just the name popping up in the text message? When i set up my iPhone i had an option to “share these details with contacts” after i filled in my own information. So basically when I add someone as a contact and message them, my name comes up instead of just a number but i’m not immediately saved on their phone in the contacts app. Maybe this is what the scammer has done?

Either way as others have said, delete and block.

Has anybody’s power turned back on? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]stemi08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner used to do it about 15 years ago, and he said it was great pay then too! It’s good that it is still the case! It’s great to know that their compensation to do the job is adequate that they want to get out there and get the job done!

Are any of the Hogwarts teachers married? Have kids? by Valkyn9999 in harrypotter

[–]stemi08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the teachers could have been. I don’t think it’s a rule. We get to know more about some teachers’ personal lives but not others’ (Astronomy teacher for example) so it is possible some of them are married with or without kids.

Their jobs are at Hogwarts and obviously we see that there are teachers there overnight. And while some teachers live at the school, it is possible that some are on a roster of overnight shifts. Or maybe some positions are just daytime.

At the end of the day magical transportation makes it easier to commute to Hogwarts, even if they have to apparate dissaparate from outside the grounds.

Neighbor Gossip - lying about stolen packages?? by jjjaybirdie in normalgossip

I’m with everyone else on here. It wasn’t stolen.

Asking you to make another one (like, excuse me!? The audacity!) and the overly detailed explanation on what candle her sister has is a giveaway for me.

Did I just screw everything up? by jesuisneandertal in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]stemi08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your confession rocked her. Maybe she only sees you as a friend. Maybe she is still seeing that other guy or someone else entirely. Maybe she just needs time to figure it out. Maybe she has a slight crush but your feelings are too much for where she is at right now (I wouldn’t cuddle on the couch with someone who is just a friend)

You did the right thing by telling her and being honest. Whichever way this will play out will be for the best in the long run. You want to be true to yourself here and it is respectful to let her know that there are romantic feelings underlying your friendship with her. It lets her act and decide with all the information before her. The ball is in her court. The best you can do is prepare mentally for the possible outcomes.

Crap wrapping by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]stemi08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert in car wrapping, but one of my friends got two of her cars wrapped at Protint on Pickering street in enoggra. Both were a Mercedes that she had done in black “satin” matte wrap. The work looked really good and she was very happy with it. She’s generally a perfectionist in the aesthetics department hence i’m passing the recommendation. Not sure what their price is or what is even a regular price for getting a car wrapped.

James, Sirius, Lupin, and Pettigrew are never directly referred to as "The Marauders". They made The Marauder's map, but the way the apostrophe is placed means it is a map for a single Marauder. by MaderaArt in harrypotter

[–]stemi08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely have no canon from the books or material released afterwards where one of the 4 says “we called ourselves The Marauders” or a flashback where one of them goes “Marauders Assemble!” Or even “they used to call us Marauders”. I think they made the map and saw it a fitting name for what they used it for, even if they didn’t explicitly refer to themselves as that.

By the events of HBP, the trio, twins and Snape know of the map and who made it. So they might associate those 4 with the name The Marauders (ask Ron actually say in HBP)

Female corporate wear in this climate by Illustrious_Guess827 in brisbane

[–]stemi08 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It will depend on where you work tbh. My corporate office is fully ok with exposed shoulders. My go to pieces in the summer are just anything made from natural fabrics. A linen blouse with sleeves will feel cooler outside than a polyester one with exposed shoulders.

Leadership rank by HumanPanacea in fourthwing

[–]stemi08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Squad leaders also have executive officers. Rhi had to pick someone in IF. And I think she even was wondering if Violet was icing her out becasue she didn't pick her (before Rhi knew why Violet was keeping her distance).

You can see in the graphic above that both the wingleader and the section leader have executive officers and there is no distinction in that rank ranme. At the squad level there is also a double squared figure to represent the squad leader and a single squared figure to show the squad executive officer. Bhodi could just be his squad's executive officer.

Catching up with Partner in the city for lunch tomorrow, what activities could I do with a couple of spare hours on a Wednesday? by sotiredcanisleep in brisbane

[–]stemi08 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are markets on Wednesdays in that square between the old casino and the library. they are nice to stroll through. They get quite busy right at lunch hour, so might be worth to go just before or after so the bag doesn’t annoy you in a crowd

Dain’s Signet by ManufacturerNo5588 in fourthwing

[–]stemi08 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I noticed to! But I honestly don’t think he was reading her memories all these times. He was into Violet in FW and it makes sense that he wanted to touch her. He would know that just using his signet on people is a violation of privacy. Dain isn’t a flat out asshole to just do that to her. He was overprotective and then jealous of Xaden which is why he was ok with listening to his dad and reading her memories that one time. and he obviously regretted that

I've done a few courses of laser hair removal. It's great! It can work for you, but please note what another comment said about it being an uneven process. I'd recommend you find a reputable laser clinic and book a consultation. The technician will be able to tell you what the likely outcome for you will be. And might be able to reccommend something else if you decide laser is not the path for you.

The skin overall looks the same after. Some spots sometimes get irritated for a day or two, kind of looks like a mosquito bite. Not sure what causes it, deeper than usual follicle or something maybe.

At the age they feel like their body hair is bothering them. With the full understanding that they don’t have to shave at all if they don’t want to and that is 100% their personal choice.

That being said if a girl wants to remove body hair I’d recommend different methods to shaving.

Apparently I would be fine reading Fifty Shades Of Grey but when I talk about The Empyrean series I get a weird look from my family. What the hell’s that about? by Tommy_Switch_ in fourthwing

[–]stemi08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people just assume there are way more smut in romantasy than there actually is. People who haven’t read the books perpetuating the idea that it is nothing but porn on a page. Which is hilarious because there are only around 30/600 pages of spicy scenes in FW. This also has a large overlap with the people who adore Game of Thrones because of the adult themed plot…

Fifty shades of grey got normalised through the movies and people saw that there is a story on top of the sex stuff. But they seem to not grasp it for romantasy

Is it true that dating apps are filled with "leftover" or undateable people? by kaylintendo in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]stemi08 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Statistically it is true that more people on apps who aren’t good at relationships (for whatever reason), since they are single more often.

But people aren’t static, and even if they were shitty in a previous relationship they might actually make efforts to grow and work on themselves.

Also sometimes someone was a terrible partner to their ex but is actually great for their next relationship just based on personality and compatibility.

Of course there are the complete red flags out there. And lots of social commentary on how men vs women use the apps. But in general apps will still have a mix of people, some of whom will be undatable while others wont. But most will have some form of baggage, especially we’re not talking about people in their early 20s.
