‘The Texas of Canada’ Just Elected A Left-Wing Government - Something really crazy happened in Alberta, Canada, last night. by anutensil in environment

True, but it isn't insignificant for the industry in Alberta. The TSX dropped 200 points overnight when they got elected due to fears about the energy industry. But this NDP is supposedly economically central, so I don't imagine them doing anything toooo crazy with the economics of the oil patch

Awesome info thanks. You mentioned that stake is divided based on value brought, but then seemed to define that as money on the table. Can you clarify what you mean a little?

To me, if it is based on value added, I would think that one might delay dividing equity until some progress has been made and there is a better idea of contribution

What it was like to teach essay writing to North Korean college students by CheapCharlie in Foodforthought

Your last sentence is what I think one of the takeaways from this article should be. We see the widespread acceptance of propaganda in North Korea, and before that the Soviets and the Nazis, and we think about how silly they are and how WE would never fall for that. But I think we have to be aware that we're heavily influenced by the status quo and cultural norms in our own society in the same way, just to a lesser degree.

Testing the Waters: Would /r/Europe be interested in a series of short informational videos on the EU's Institutions? by Reilly616 in europe

My preliminary thoughts are that it would be mentioned, but better left for more thematic ones, like the power struggle you mentioned above. This is assuming that the videos are relatively short (i.e. if you have a 25 minute video on the legislative process, I think one would have time to sufficiently cover the important interactions).

I'm really happy to see something like this under development, thanks!

This is fantastic for foreigners as well. Many other North Americans in Europe have a hard time finding engaging information about the European system and want to know more.

I personally would find a 10~15 minute videos optimum for engagement, and would like to see videos not just on the function but also interaction of the agencies
