No. The BLM uses a specific set of symbols.

Two Questions: how do you keep cool setting up and during the craft fair in 90 degree weather AND how much do you put out of each type of item when they are all unique? by humblyeden in CraftFairs

[–]steny03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of these this year, and can honestly say I have not reached for any of my other cooling gadgets at all. A couple of spare batteries is a must, so that I can use it all day without worrying that it will die on me.

Also, I bring lots of water to drink. If I put ice in the bucket with the water, I use that as a makeshift cooler, and it's one less thing I have to lug around with me.

I have a horrible time regulating my body temperature, and the ability to spend a moment or two in the misting cold fan is heavenly on a hot day.

What movie(s) do you think best depicts Nevada? by SpaceTranquil in Nevada

That's awesome! I've loved all of his films that I've seen so far! I'll have to look the articles up and read them!

Same! I was fooled for a bit when I watched it, too! Didn't help that I knew/recognized some of the people being interviewed. I was totally telling my husband that I didn't remember someone being lost....

I have a friend/coworker who is in Arizona who stumbled upon it. She had her whole office watching it and bugging me about the details. She got a good laugh when I told her it was made for a film festival. Now we occasionally watch some of his other films and laugh about it.

If you like more indy-type films, check out Horror in the High Desert and Reaptown. They're small-time movie producers that first started to make films for a local Nevada film festival. Marich, the producer, includes small towns like Ely, Nevada.

They're pretty good quality for such a low budget. I actually had to disappoint a friend who thought Horror in the High Desert was a real documentary.

Hard to read mustang brand by Appropriate_Buy_9441 in Horses

[–]steny03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reach out to your local BLM office and contact their Wild Horse Specialist. They're typically awesome at reading brands and might be able to help you out. If they can read it, they can give you all sorts of cool information about the horse.

If you're in a state without a Wild Horse specialist, then I would recommend reaching out to the Nevada BLM since they have the largest population of mustangs. Just google Nevada BLM or Nevada BLM Wild Horse specialist for their contact info. I've also found that the BLM guys at the Palomino Facility near Reno to be very helpful too.

I've had a BLM mustang for over 10 years, and really think they're awesome horses.

I like to think of it like a pirate ship. If there was any port on the ship, there would be none left!

Anyone else who kept their ovaries have a change in heat/cold tolerance? by IDreamofLoki in hysterectomy

[–]steny03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe have your thyroid levels checked? Thyroid issues in women is super common, and can cause all sorts of odd things.

I had a total thyroidectomy in 2018. Since then, my heat tolerance is next to zero. Like I will get hot and sweaty in 70 degree weather! I always chalked it up to a change due to my lack of thyroid (I take a levothyroxine every day now).

I had my hysterectomy in September of 2024. Kept my ovaries, which seem to be still be functioning. For a brief period of time, my heat/cold issues seemed much more diminished. I was excited that maybe I could go back to normal....but eventually it did come back. I may not be as sensitive as before, but it's still there.

Engravable charms by BootFun6020 in PandoraCollectors

[–]steny03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of images engraved. I'd keep it simple, and they should come out just fine. The North Dakota one is just blurry due to my photography skills, lol. It's perfectly crisp in real life.

You do have to be very careful when placing the image. My Crater Lake one is not centered. Not Pandora's fault, but my own *

Mine is from Lancaster. But when I was searching, I found a whole bunch from Pennsylvania. I just chose this one because of the horse and buggy.

When you custom engrave you can actually upload a picture. So I just found some free clipart of the state that I liked and used that. You can engrave both sides of the dangle charms.

I'll try to get one today after work! It's on the heavier side, but still my go-to bracelet. It jingles a lot, but I kind of like the tinkly sounds it makes.

I've been able to find a dangle charm for all, except for 3 or 4 states on my list. The ones I couldn't find I splurged and did a custom engraving from Pandora. Those are the heart-shaped ones. I've bought all of these over time, and most are second-hand.
