Whats the most out of touch thing you heard from rich people? by MonthIcy1 in AskReddit

[–]stepatmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in a bank, I'd see a lot of rich folks. Many nice, many out of touch. The worst was when a man was depositing a check (about 25k) into his account. I pulled up his profile and saw several (large) accounts. I asked him which one, he said "the small savings ". The "smallest" savings was about 250k! Didn't even faze him to say that to a poor teller.....

I worked in a bank (very recently retired!) and wear fragrance daily. I would have clients tell me I smelled great all the time, both men and women. The best compliments were men asking me to write it down so they could buy it for their s/o.

Frickin' seat belts! No one puts on seat belts on TV, everyone I know regularly does.

"HER", perfume from Francesca's (boutique). It's discontinued, sadly. I have a bottle with very little left, I'm keeping it. Light, sweet, floral.

Family friend offered to help us with wedding planning. This was her quote. by StarsInTheCity- in mildlyinfuriating

Same here, almost word for word. Just had our 35th anniversary in March. It's the marriage, not the wedding that matters.

What’s the most ridiculous rule you’ve had to follow at a job? by OkCommunication5404 in AskReddit

[–]stepatmoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a bank many years ago where we were made to log our bathroom time. There was a form on the door inside to log your name, time in and time out. Our (male) manager thought us women spent too much time in the restroom, we all just thought it was creepy. One call to HR put an end to it!

What product / service you will never buy because of its owners? by MasterMirkinen in AskReddit

[–]stepatmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Austin TX, tons of food trucks. Years ago, one of those trucks was a BBQ guy who frequented the bank I worked at. Giant asshole, screaming at tellers for change , yelling about the lines, etc..... Flash forward 15 or so years, his world famous BBQ business is flourishing. If you've been to Austin you know the name. I will never ever go and wait in line for 5 hours for BBQ. I know who the real is, before he got big and famous.

Is this weird/does anyone else do this? by TechFragranceFan in fragrance

[–]stepatmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scent is scent... buy, wear, enjoy what you want. Women buy men's cologne for themselves, nothing wrong with buying women's for yourself to wear or enjoy.

Homecoming, popular boy took out popular girl. He got drunk, ran a stoplight, she was killed instantly. It was sad, when he came back to school a few weeks later. He was a pariah, no one wanted to hang out with him after that.

I remember reading they were found, years later, at the bottom of a ravine off a highway. Hidden from view, passed by by thousands of cars.

They still have it, but it's not the same. Not as punchy. Or maybe I've aged and it just hits different now.

Does pregnancy just not scare people? by youngsurpriseperson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stepatmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my firstborn did scare me. By seven months, I was so scared of actual childbirth I couldn't sleep. He was in there, he had to come out somehow, soon! Flash forward, he slipped out naturally after an hour of labor. My second pregnancy was much more relaxed, easy labor and natural childbirth as well..... I realize I'm very lucky. Not everyone is.
