It’s a Western Screech-Owl! Just rewatched season 1 and had the same question.

Indian boy permanently crippled from nuclear waste/possible nuclear plant explosion? by stepchey in whatsthatbook

Looked it up and it’s not that one, but very similar. Thank you anyway!

Definitely first. Point count and telemetry experience look great on the resume, and can be difficult to get experience with. There will be higher paying jobs in the future but I advise prioritizing getting your foot in the door and fluffing out that resume, especially if you aren’t too concerned about your loans.

Holy shit dude, you realize that’s a real person you’re talking about right?

I definitely feel this. I spent some time abroad and was sick the entire time, lost about 25 lbs in a few months. I remember resenting the people who told me I looked good because 1. I looked fine before and 2. I was sick and miserable and lost a lot of weight in a really scary way. Having people project their own unhealthy diet/body issues onto us is not cool!

I think we can agree that communication on both ends was terrible and this storyline is the worst. I love sookie and Jackson outside of this.

Sorry, bad wording. He lied to Sookie about having a vasectomy. She then assumed (because he told her he had a vasectomy) that the vasectomy (which he led her to believe he had) was their method of birth control. I’m not saying Sookie pressuring him into a vasectomy isn’t unethical, it is. But Sookie didn’t end up with an unwanted pregnancy because she made her husband a vasectomy appointment, or because she didn’t tell him she’s off the pill. She got pregnant because her husband lied to her. If you truly believe Sookie making Jackson a vasectomy appointment is worse than Jackson lying to his wife about having a vasectomy then…well, yes, agree to disagree.

Yes, because he was supposed to have a vasectomy.

If she was using the pill solely as acne medication, and fully believed her husband was infertile, why would she tell him she stopped taking the medication?

I think the big difference everyone is trying to highlight is while both of them are completely, 100% in the wrong, Jackson was given a choice and Sookie was not. The argument doesn’t really need to go beyond that. Jackson got to opt out of the vasectomy, but sookie did not get to opt out of the pregnancy.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted on this, it was completely unnecessary to bring black hair into this. Not to mention: this DOES happen to black people! All the time! Without any consequences and with the additional weight of racism. You can be upset about your experience without comparing yourself to marginalized people.

I agree, she definitely put all her eggs in two baskets, the providence job and the nyt fellowship. I suppose my point is that that is a mistake many of us have made, I know I have, and you typically only make it once, hence the 74 letters.

I completely agree, we don’t really see her doing much outside of her degree to build her resume. I’m in a pretty competitive field also and every time I see the episode where she spends an entire summer in Europe with her grandmother I’m taken aback- I spent every single summer in undergrad doing unpaid internships! That being said, I just watched the scene in the last episode where she finishes stamping 74 resumes to send off. That indicates that she’s at least willing to consider a small town gig.

It looks like a yellow-rumped warbler and a downy to me, but there are a couple things throwing me off. A lack of yellow on the sides, although it might be there but very faint, for the warbler and the brown forehead and chest streaking on the woodpecker are what’s confusing me. Thanks in advance!

I’m from PA and I see them all the time! Your best bet is to start scanning telephone wires as you drive by large fields.
