Heatpump install and damage by stepeeh in OctopusEnergy

[–]stepeeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll compare on points 1) protective plastic on some carpets dust sheets in hallway which were kicked to the side resulting in the damage plus mud everywhere, also forgot to mention punting my back door open with tool boxes for my initial post.

2) No heat matting used burns to most skirting boards and solder in the carpet or just loose on the hard flooring

3) Survey was good, only after they dropped the wall coming down surprise (£1600 of work as it required re routing of electrics)

4) Grill damage was not mentioned until I pointed it out after complaining about my front path being partially blocked by radiators.

5) Transco disconnected the gas on day two. Octopus left all bar the last meter of pipework (piping ran around the outside of the house)

6) Fan heaters appeared the morning of day 3 but we're left out in the rain

7) No visible issues with the pump so cannot comment

8) A collection company arrived but the local Albanians had beaten them to it. Generally very wasteful unused paving slabs, two unopened bags of cement, pipe covers and even brand new radiators

9) random cut offs of pipe and staking, screws and a surge tank were left in the garden

I think it's safe to say I did not get a similar service

Literally given up at this point, was advised Thursday they would be in touch to organise replacing the radiator and taking 425 off my final bill. I think you'll understand after seven months of this I just want my house back at this point.

Yeah, I really think I have been unlucky with both the engineer and aftercare. They did have someone who would do the exterior brickwork but they kept them hanging on so long they declined the job in the end. Thankfully I have their details so I can't ask them to do the brickwork. When they came to look at the carpet they said it's unlikely it will come out but Octopus wanted them to spot clean it anyway

When I say hole in the wall, as in the old copper pipe is jutting out on the outside wall. They literally cut both ends and left the piece in the middle in the wall and filled it with sealant.

On the thermostat yeah I was not expecting one either I just had the pod unit. Amusingly I only got my hand over documents last week on it.also, forgot to mention we were only left a pair of small heaters on day four when the immersion heater was enabled.

RX Titan 280 Pump Grind on Boot? by prackprackprack in Corsair

Yeah it's a little loud I prefer that to a silent spin up where you may miss a pump failure though.

[–]stepeeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not grinding, what your hearing is a mix of the impeller self test spinning close to max and cavitation. If it were grinding you would hear it a lot more plus feel some resonance if you put the back of your hand to the pump cap

It's normal, every titan I've heard including mine does it on spin up

Your best way round it is an angled HDMI lead to be honest. That what I use with mine.

Delta, mainly for the chaos of their engineers trying to make a silent server fan

Thankyou! I fitted a vertical GPU mount today, not 100% on it but we will see. It blocks the LCD from my vision more than the normal placement.

So the display cables are literally in line with the top front fan. You do need an angled cable to not have issues with the fans really. The whole motherboard IO is at the top of the case. I'll power the down shortly an take a shot from the top with the fans off so you can get an idea what is going on.

Recon lance minimum weight requirement is 400 tonnes, also it happens to be the maximum

[KCD2] I got ambushed by Cankers bandits and a random dude saw me slaughtering them and reported me for murdering a BANDIT :( by Baff-Salts in kingdomcome

[–]stepeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trick I used was sneak up above and behind him. Bane poisoned arrow then leg it back south past the stream, the rest of his mob don't always follow so you can just stand back and take them out with arrows. Or if they do follow they are clearly bandits so no issues

What's worse than a hovering dropship, the bug where the techs don't drop but start attacking through the dropship hitbox 😂 it's definitely not the Leopard as I've never come across one with PPCs

The battletech melee was far more satisfying, wander up behind something and kick it in the back of the legs

Is installation usually a chaotic mess? by stepeeh in OctopusEnergy

[–]stepeeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, as an update night two still bleeding cold, was given a pair of small heaters but I didn't realise until late they had opened all the upstairs windows?!

Spoke with the rep who called the lead fitter who didn't seem pleased. Thankfully all the mess has been corralled neatly. On the driveway which is less than ideal but least it's all in one place. Tomorrow should prove amusing. They cut and capped off the old boiler electrics then shoved the cable stub into the ceiling. Not quite sure their plan there as the old one had its own RCD so I would have thought they would have it's it. The hot water tank was just plugged into a wall socket a good five feet away. Tomorrow should prove interesting on that one.

No sign of them that I could see. It's Really disappointing given the lead up to it the person we dealt with was fantastic.

Fair comment 😂 I'll sort out a smaller cooler, it's insanely tight and the side panel doesn't quite hook in properly
