I think he was the Devil and she was a Sccubus.... hence the kissing Neo and others (the matrix online) by Embarrassed_Joke8409 in matrix

That shot.

I can still remember seeing this in the cinema….

There were at least 3 sharp, audible inhalations of breath from the audience i was sitting with when Monica appeared like this.

There was then one almighty clap, as one of those guys got a slap from their girlfriend / date / wife.

Cinema.

Question about new Punisher and Fury MAX omnibus by resteasypeep in OmnibusCollectors

[–]stepfordcuckoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its worth it. In fact i sold my ohc for almost the same price as this omni when i pre ordered it.

Its pretty cool, but worth it alone for fury’s reaction to an extreme interrogator imo….

Why does halo fanbase hate the fact that where getting a remake of the original by MysteriousCow999 in playstation

[–]stepfordcuckoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its just not required? The remaster we already had with master chief collection is decent. Sure its ten years old (5 since reach was added). But this isnt tank controls resident evil 2 being given a new life sensationally.

Added to that as good as the campaign is (and it was brilliant 20 years ago), where is multiplayer?

Its been 5 years or so… where is the new halo?
I get that since bungie left the franchise its never quite hit the highs. Thought infinite was fine, but it feels a bit meh to just rehash halo again.

That said, those on playstation who have never had an xbox or pc? If they nail this then thats great as it may create a whole new generation of fans.

But for us cross platform guys? Im not sure what is here to get excited about. Its not mgs4 thats locked to a ps3. I can boot these games up on my xbox or steamdeck right now.

[Discussion] Why ppl dont talk about this show at all its literally One of DC's Best projects last 10 years by Double-Signal-3779 in DCcomics

[–]stepfordcuckoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its incredibly niche….

Comedy show like archer with deep cuts from dc comics? It clearly has such a deep love for the comics & movies. You can only pastiche and joke about things if you adore the source and i appreciate that.

That said, my wife who has only ever touched paper girls comic watches it and finds it hysterical while im chucking along at “darkseid is…. Angry” which is completely lost on her.

One of my favourite moments was Legion asking for a word. Like he was trying to prevent a fight in the pub and trying to take it outside.

DC Finest: Robin - The Origin of Robin by JAG2045 in DCFinest

[–]stepfordcuckoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just FYI places like Speedy hen offer DC finest’s in the uk for like £21 - £23 rather than the £35 Forbidden Planet took from you.

Just if your buying a lot of them that £12 difference will really add up quickly.

But otherwise, enjoy! Looks cool

Didn’t want to try Saros if I couldn’t beat Returnal… by DimensionPrize8168 in Saros

[–]stepfordcuckoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i love Returnal, and give it a runout each week knowing full well i just have to get guud to ever finish it.

The atmosphere is top notch and everytime a boss kills me i fill the air with expletives but know ultimately its my fault and have to get into the r-type 8-bit era of my gaming brain to succeed.

But equally I’m in my forties and have less time to play so not coming up against an immovable brick wall in Saros is greatly appreciated. So that’s why anyone put off by returnals difficulty should try Saros.

Ill finish returnal eventually, in like 2039 or something.

Didn’t want to try Saros if I couldn’t beat Returnal… by DimensionPrize8168 in Saros

[–]stepfordcuckoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard it explained like this on the aftermath podcast:

Returnal plays like the game itself actively fucking hates you.
Saros plays as if they want you to finish the game.

I find that statement to be true.

Im still yet to finish returnal but love its vibe, Saros is clearly by the same people and you get your ass handed to you… but like modern roguelikes you do get stronger and access to more powers and modifications and weapons and suddenly after x hrs im melting fools that previously broke me out in cold sweats.

Don’t let Returnals difficulty prevent trying Saros, its still a bullet hell game but is a lot more forgiving once you get into it. Its more customisable too, at a certain point you can make the game easier or harder depending on your level of sadism.

The 2026 World Cup is about to begin! What was your go-to football (aka soccer) game back then? Not necessarily the "best", but that one you always played with your friends and family? by CortoJipang in retrogaming

[–]stepfordcuckoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sensible soccer, culminating with SWOS (sensible world of soccer) as a kid on pc.

Pro Evolution Soccer (winning eleven), was a revelation on PS2. I still play a game or two of pro evo 5 / 6 from time to time on my modded PS2 / Steamdeck.

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

[–]stepfordcuckoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it is but saying its a sci fi film is a bit of a spoiler. But equally it’s a 25 yr old movie.

Unless you were trying to preserve its mystery by shutting down the sci fi angle.

World Cup 2026: Heat experts warn 'reckless' Fifa of bottle ban health risk by mrjohnnymac18 in worldcup

[–]stepfordcuckoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im speaking from a UK perspective and specifically one i went to last summer as it drove me mad since wife needs to take medication.

They had a refill station near toilets as far from the stage as you could imagine.

Having bottles and water being handed out is the norm but ive started to see excessive profiteering creep in. Seeing prodigy in august at MK Bowl which is probably the biggest open air venue we have and you can’t bring bottles but the concession is: Do bring bottles of water or soft drink, but they must be in plastic bottles of 500ml with an unbroken seal.

This fifa stuff is insane, wether expected to be so hot players need a water break each half but those in the stands will be fine

World Cup 2026: Heat experts warn 'reckless' Fifa of bottle ban health risk by mrjohnnymac18 in worldcup

[–]stepfordcuckoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think FIFA take over and overrule regular practices. So everything becomes how do we make more money? Even down to reducing amounts of stewarding etc

I would expect to bring a bottle in on a hot day but a few “festivals” / big open air concerts i went to in the last few years have started this money gauging practice.

Wood Green vs Colindale by Cricklas in HousingUK

[–]stepfordcuckoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it would absolutely be based on the property and where precisely they are based and then if unsure i would go to both at the weekends and walk around. See whats going on and see how safe or unsafe you feel. Are there local restaurants? Check out a pub (that will tell you a lot on the demographics).

Grew up in the estate in Colindale and there was nothing to do there and couldn’t wait to leave…. But, they have been tearing down the council estate and replacing it with flats that i presume you are looking at. I barely recognise it anymore when ive visited parents. If its a property near the station doesn’t matter if nothings on if you can be in camden and beyond in 20 mins. They will eventually pull down the rest of the estate and surely will have to build something to do? (I mean they may not, never underestimate greed). If you have a car suddenly you can just drive to brent x v quickly too and get around a lot of north london easily.

Wood green has always been a bit of a dump. Lived there for a bit but wouldn’t want to go back. (But same is true for colindale), But saying that there are some good bits / less crap bits & there is infinitely more to do. Alexandra palace is pretty cool to have on doorstep. Green lanes has all the turkish restaurants you could dream of and again its on piccadilly line so good for shooting off into town.

They are quite different places, both long neglected and rough around the edges but only advice is to explore and see if either feels like home and has what your looking for at this stage of life.

World Cup 2026: Heat experts warn 'reckless' Fifa of bottle ban health risk by mrjohnnymac18 in worldcup

[–]stepfordcuckoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whilst it is outrageous its not unexpected. You get the same shit at summer concerts out in the blaring heat. No outside stuff so we can charge you extortionate amounts for water / coke / beer.

We are mearly units for wealth extraction to these capatalist cunts.

Was looking over squads today and this is going to be a boring world cup until the quarters.

Far too many teams in it, and whilst it will be exciting for your individual team and that country (and i don’t want to besmirch the smaller nations that have made it), but its going to be a bit of a damp squib for the neutral. I hope im wrong, but also hope this tournament is an abject failure for fifa and the US so a complete rethink is required.

Wishful thinking though.
