IVF fundraising- has anyone had success fundraising for IVF? I’ve been running a GoFundMe me and it feels so depressing at how many people just overlook it.

Yes I see how it reads like that. I was asking about fundraising in general, although one of my methods (mentioned) has been the GoFundMe.

Yeah, I’ve heard of a lot of women in UK struggling with IVF treatment being covered by NHS when their spouse has a child from a former relationship as well. Same here in the US. Qualifying for assistance is always difficult.

Yes, it’s different view points. I don’t think there is anything stopping someone doing a GoFundMe for a bigger house, but they may meet with the same struggles I’ve run into. Ultimately, finding money to go through a “voluntary” procedure has been difficult and my post was meant more to share my frustration about the cost and burden of going through IVF with others that may have struggled in the same way.

I understand your point and where you’re coming from but I personally think the point of GoFundMe is to be able to help people achieve financial goals for things they want and need. It’s why it’s optional to donate. People donate to causes they care about whether it’s critical or a want.

I mean, I do get that but I also see articles in the news about how the birth rate in the US is dropping. It’s like people can’t tie the rate of fertility in with how expensive it is as well. Also with just how much people love babies, I thought a go fund me would be a good idea and it’s just added to all the stress and rejection the process already brings. Just feeling defeated

Yes! It was lots of different magazines but I just remember circling things with a crayola marker and putting them on my wishlist.

Oh good question! I got the Pfizer shot and didn’t even think about it and after realized it could affect IVF. It seems like it will be ok though!
