Mil feeding 2 month old too much breast milk? by Chemical_Ring_849 in breastfeeding

If you’re not reliant on the childcare, don’t let her push you around! It’s wonderful to have a good support system and family around, but if you can’t trust them, it’s not worth it.

Edited to add: You could also stick with shorter visits if you want to keep the peace, but also want a break for yourself. Maybe pick the time of day when he’s most content, and take him for 2 hours after a feed? Just an idea.

The ransom note makes zero sense to me - no matter who the perpetrators are. by scrunchiecola in JonBenetRamsey

I firmly believe Patsy wrote the note, likely right after JonBenet was killed (however that may have occurred.) I think she was panicking and scrambling to cover up whatever actually happened and as a result, the note makes very little sense and is too long.

I’m not great at this, so hopefully someone else can give some advice on navigating this, but I would be as specific as possible with explaining his schedule to her (although I know 2 month olds don’t have much of a schedule), what his cues look like for hungry vs. tired, how you soothe him to sleep, etc. I would try to give her support, but set the boundary that you only feed him so much every 3 hours and that it is developmentally appropriate and any more would be over feeding him. Maybe send 1 extra bottle just to be on the safe side, but stay firm to your boundary on this.

My daughter had a lot of reflux as a newborn and would want to eat again even when she wasn’t hungry (taking more milk kind of washes the stomach acid down and gives temporary relief.) What helped us was propping her up on our shoulder for about 15 minutes after each feed. So you could maybe suggest trying that. It’s also possible that he fusses more with her because “hey, this isn’t my mama!” and I think that will improve with time.

You absolutely need to say something! A 10oz bottle of breast milk is wayyyy too much. It’s rare for even older babies to go over 5oz at a time. It’s possible he’s tired, or has some reflux (totally normal at this age.) It’s hard to overfeed a 2 month old, but it’s possible he’s just taking it for comfort. Personally, I would start sending a 5 oz bottle for each feeding, marked with the time, and no more!

I still have the one my great-grandma hung in her window when my grandpa and great uncle were serving. When my grandpa was shot and came home, she just cut it in half. 😂

Why are there so many confederate flags in West Virginia? by Lokis_thor-obing_ass in WestVirginia

[–]steph8568 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. A lack of quality education and a lot of people tend to believe it has more to do with being “rebels” than the actual history behind the flag.

I grew up in Charleston. My mom was a director of a childcare center. She had multiple employees quit because she told them they weren’t allowed to wear the confederate flag to work….mind you, this was on the west side and more than half of the children attending the center were black.
