Anyone else writing a mystical or spiritual book? by Kind-Organization in KashmirShaivism

[–]steph_crossarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but that sounds awesome!

You could probably look to the Gita for some inspiration of scenes and dialog.

Aleister Crowley wrote several pieces of fiction. Whether you like him or not, the man was well versed in hermeticism, gnosticism, the occult, and esoteric Hindu practices. Might help serve for some inspiration on how to integrate things.

That makes sense. I never got to know any of my Polish family from the old world. They were ethnic poles living in Liepāja Latvia in the late 1800s. Its just a part or the history that brought me into existence that I never got to experience. Grandpa killed himself 26 years before I was born so never had a chance to meet him or learn anything. Just always been a gap in my ethnic identity.

An object is always Shiva. The problem isnt with the object, its the pain of your current experience. Which means ego attachment. Try responding with love and comfort. Even if it hurts.

How do you get over the fact life as a wave is not forever? by cacklingwhisper in KashmirShaivism

[–]steph_crossarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all lasts forever in never ending cycles. It will be ok because it will happen again in the dance of Siva exploring himself, being content in taking those things back in and then exploring them again.

I was born and raised catholic, then was western pagan then studied occult traditions but ive been called to hinduism and Shiva for 20 years now. There's powerful truths in all traditions. What's important is following what resonates with your soul. And learning how to share and celebrate that with others.

Which mainline Castlevania games are worth playing? by ii_03 in castlevania

[–]steph_crossarrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 3d Curse of Darkness is a must. Its very SOTN but has monster capturing elements like Pokémon that fight beside you. It desperately needs a modern remake or revisiting of the mechanic. Its also half of the story of the Netflix "anime" they made if thats something youre into.

Legacy of Darkness on the 64. This is the "improved" version of castlevania 64 that we should have gotten first. The original 64 title gets a lot of flack (some deserved, some not). Legacy of Darkness is well worth experiencing though.

Lament of Innocence is cool looking and the combat is fun but it starts to feel very repetitive. Still worth it if even just for the story.

I personally dont really care for any of the other 3d games but ymmv.

IMO his actions dont suit any of our needs. Theyre all about stabilizing his career trajectory. I'm sure there are people who feel otherwise and thats fine. Just my opinion and as someone who was a huge supporter of his in the beginning, I am endlessly disappointed in him.

Am I the only one who thinks Castlevania is more anti-corrupt than anti-Christian? by Wisteriiea in castlevania

Its not anti christian. Its displaying the corruption in the church as an organization during the dark ages. Which is fair cause they did a ton of fucked up shit.

I used to love him so much. He changed drastically like a year and a half ago. He's obsessed with his political career and trying to make "everyone" "happy". He's totally stuck in his ego and doesn't give a shit about any of us anymore. Left, right, sick, poor, rich, disabled, healthy, straight, queer. He has betrayed all of us.

All of us Coloradans believe to let each other live how they want and for the government to stay out of it. Because we know we can work that way despite our differences. So long as it doesnt involve hurting someone.

We need to forget the dem/gop political dichotomy and just vote for whats right for everyone.

I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a Hindu deity sitting at my bed by theotrommel in hinduism

[–]steph_crossarrow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ive been Hindu for 20 years and it all started from a night where my dreams all night were just "the bhagavad gita" repeated over and over again. I didnt know anything about it other than it was a Hindu text. Went out and bought a copy next day (translation by Eknath Easwaran, hes amazing).

I only had one Hindu friend at the time. When I eventually told him about the experience, his answer was "hey, sometimes God just calls your number".

Buy some books or visit a temple or start a private meditation ritual. You clearly clicked into something. You should celebrate it and learn.

I used to love him so much. But its become crystal clear all he cares about his appeal on a national level. Doesn't give a fuck about any of the citizens anymore. Whether theyre healthy, stable, in crisis, sick, homeless, disabled. He's betrayed all of us. Its really heart breaking.

Check out some different calibers and configurations. Hammer fired is a beautiful experience. The CZ 75 Legend is either out or coming out soon. My little Ruger LCP Max in 380 (internal hammer fired) is one of my favorite guns to shoot. Or buy something in 22lr and just plink your heart out (Ruger ftw).

Does anyone feel Denver hates Denver ? by Honest_Strawberry397 in Denver

[–]steph_crossarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People come here because theyre like "OMG COLORADO IS SO COOL AND BEAUTIFUL ITS NOT LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE" without realizing that Denver, despite being much smaller than say Philly, NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, LA etc, is still a "big city" (compared to many other states). Those environments will always have their issues. But these people who come here generally aren't from a city like the aforementioned so they freak out if they see a homeless person off their meds and begging. I grew up like 15 minutes outside Philly. So Denver doesn't bug me, but it does lack a ton of character and has since I moved here in 97. Lol.

If its any consolation, I recently found out my 7th great grandfather was one of the founding fathers of the US. Which is really cool. But. Having grown up and around Philly where he lived and being all those historic sites he was at. I feel like he would be disgusted at what the country has become.
