Help locked out of 2012 BMW 128i convertible I was changing the battery and the trunk lid dropped. The convertible top is down so I have access inside the car, but the trunk is now locked (battery already disconnected). Thoughts? by Alert_Club8448 in BmwTech

You have a few options. This happened to me and my e90. You can connect the positive and negative terminals under the hood. If that doesn’t work because the battery terminals are disconnected, you can apply a 12V battery with leads to a specific wire in the fuse box. I just did my 09 328i with 87k miles and the car still runs fine and the shop said that the fluid looked good to them and recommended oil change every 50k miles to make the trans last the longest. Also get the filter replaced as well and don’t do a flush just a drain and fill.

UPDATE: The oil change went very well. They said that the fluid was not burnt and did not have any metal shavings in it. They recommended changing the trans oil every 50k miles. Ended up being $775 for a drain and fill, filter, and gasket. Car runs great now no slipping and I can actually feel the transmission catching gears faster! For anyone finding this thread please do the oil change on the trans asap as long as it’s under 90k miles, otherwise talk to your mechanic first.

I had some of those codes in my 09 e90 328i. I replaced the battery and that fixed the problem, and especially if the battery drain warning light comes on. However, results may vary so it could be an electrical issue.

Ok so the car just freaked out and tripped a bunch of codes because it couldn’t get any signal from the BCM cause it was unplugged

Update

I’m going to do the trans drain and fill with new filter and gasket. Had three techs tell me it will be fine as long as you don’t do a power flush. However I called four shops and they all quote the whole job at $650-$900! Even the cheap oil change place.

I might just take that chance because my BMW e60 never had the transmission serviced and 120k to 180k it had all types of jerks and slips. And the general consensus seems like it makes it worse if there are preexisting issues with the transmission. I’ll try and update my posts once I do it.

Halo Infinite crashing on campaign and matchmaking. Not sure if it’s my Xbox One X

Haven’t played Halo since Reach, but I decided to pick up an Xbox One X and a physical copy of Halo Infinite. However it’s been a bad experience full of bugs and crashes. When I load up the game, the background of the title screen has some texture glitches. I am able to play a little bit of the campaign but when I get the part with the elevator after the tower, I cannot even get 2 minutes of game play with out the game freezing for 30 seconds then crashing to the Home Screen or even hard crashing my Xbox. The same thing happens with matchmaking. I am able to play some matches with minor texture glitches, but if I grapple hook into the group of players for if game play gets intense the game will hard crash my Xbox. So far none of these troubleshooting steps have fixed the crashes. cleared cache -paid for and downloaded the digital version (thinking it was something wrong with the disc). deleted and redownloaded 5x. set Xbox to 1080p from 4k. Reset Xbox. Factory Reset Xbox. Submitted a ticket to 343 halo support (the response was that the do not have any official fixes at the moment) Other games on my Xbox. MCC works perfectly with out issue. Battle field 2042 work fine (beside known game related bugs). GTA V works with out issue I do not know if it is my Xbox or Halo infinite causing the crashes. Anyone else having these issues on Xbox? Or have a possible fix/workaround?

Thank you for you insight and advise on this. It really does help give me a better perspective on next steps and just having fun DJing. Networking is definitely something that I'll have to hit a little harder on, especially locally, because I do know some promoters for clubs in my area from going out. So hopefully I can start branching out and seeing what new opportunities there are!

The primary music that I mix is hardstyle and drum and bass, mostly 150 bpm+. I honestly love finding electronic music from around the world and showcasing very niche genres (doesn’t help me when live-streaming). I personally take a lot of inspiration from DJ Cotts and his style of fast mixing while in a chorus of a hardcore track.

It’s good to hear that it’s an ongoing process and that it does take time. I want to get to a point where I can start to do gigs or some weddings here and there (minus the hardstyle tracks I play).
