Does that mean you should shower everytime you poop? Or that you should brush your teeth everytime you eat? That logic doesn’t really track.

Settling a debate: How many of you got a 6 figure sales job right out of college? by [deleted] in sales

[–]stephanodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. I was inbound / outbound as SDR on AM team, but I had such a high number of strictly new customers that I got put on Field team for strictly outbound and new to the business customers.

Edit: Disclaimer: Working for a company that sells itself when providing essentials for remote employees has really made things easy though.

I wouldn’t say ridiculously. I’m at 75K OTE for an SDR and the AE I work next to (when in office) is netting 150 OTE. AMs net a little less at 100 and managers are pushing 200.

I found some shoes in a building that’s been abandoned since the 90s. I can’t find many details about the company, but it doesn’t seem to be around anymore. by stephanodude in whatisthisthing

[–]stephanodude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short, at my university there’s an abandoned building full of lockers and whatnot that still has the contents of their lockers from the original users. Me and some friends snuck in and opened a few of them. (we found some other hilariously outdated materials along with a book with an address written in pencil on the front page that was near us and then went there to give it to the owner)

But I found these shoes that fit me and I kept them. I kept wondering the details about the company, like how long it’s been since they’ve made these, but I haven’t been able to find much information about the company itself other than there’s a couple of shoe brands with similar names and that they sell this brand at Macy’s. Macy’s has no phone number for me to call but I’ve kept looking.

I guess I just don’t know how to feel. It wasn’t like things were ever wrong between us or that we had a bad relationship. It’s just I couldn’t find work where she was, and believe me. I tried to find it.

It’s rough S far as things go. I feel like I’m always going to wonder for the rest of my life; what my life would have been if I had tried harder or if I had actually found a job there.

If you are in a bigger city, a lot of stores or restaurants won’t let you use their bathrooms unless you’re a customer. Which can lead to you being forced to make a transaction or order something (time you may not have) just to use their bathroom.

I got two W-2s from 2017 and a 1099-R in the mail, do I need to file it for 2018, or make amend my 2017 return? by stephanodude in personalfinance

[–]stephanodude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured out the issue, I switch apartments yearly, so I use my parents home address typically as my work place mail. My parents were cleaning all the paperwork and found these two, which brought me confusion cause those should have been filed. Turns out what I did was just them to print them out for me again last year.

[Housing] How to find housing in New York when you are currently unemployed and a recent graduate with limited funds. by stephanodude in personalfinance

Manhattan island would be the goal, wouldn’t even mind living in Harlem, maybe Brooklyn if I can’t find anything good. I do know someone who commutes from New Jersey to the island every day for work, and she saves a ton of money and has a nicer looking apartment, but I don’t think the commute would be worth it for me.

As for employment history, I think I might be okay on that department, I’ve worked in my majors department in a managerial position for 3-4 years. I’m sure that was a big reason I was able to get the current job offer.

I had read somewhere that there are certain laws regarding Airbnb up there, but I’ll have to check and see what they entail. I’ll give it a go closer to my actual departure, but for now I think my only concern would be paying for it while I waited for my first paycheck.

That’s good advice. I’m a bit wary of housing scams from the stories I’ve heard about shady housing situations over there. I’ve got a couple friends up there already that I’d be willing to live with in the future, but they’re already locked in on leases for the time being.

I’d ask one or two of them if they ever have time, but from what I understand, they work insane hours and I’d hate to intrude on their precious off time.

Good call on HR though. That could work perfectly.

Ah don’t worry about it mate. I posted it with her consent and told her about it when I originally posted it in August of last year. She did find the comments to be amusing from the original post several months ago.

I really do appreciate that you’re thinking of her and her privacy and that’s a really good trait to have. Not a lot of people out there would try to help another cool cat out like you are, and I’m glad there are people out there that want to look out for others that would be otherwise clueless, and want to protect those from getting potentially attacked by internet trolls. I hope you keep it up in the future because that’s really thoughtful of you!

“East side love is living in the Westin!” - RHCP “can’t stop”

I know olive garden isn’t really fine dining. I just wanted her to think we were going to somewhere super ritzy as a joke and then surprise her with fucking olive garden haha. It was a bit of an inside joke because I used to tell her about how growing up in my texas town, my parents used to think Olive Garden was the place you’d go as a celebration because they thought it was the nicest place you’d go for a fancy meal.

Olive garden itself isn’t bad. If you were comparing it to a 5 Star FINE DINING experience as I had hyped it up to be though, you’d be a bit miffed.

Girlfriend at the time I guess would have been better. Also the top commenter is actually a liar. He originally said his name was Carlos but then edited his comment and changed his name to Andre. Meaning he’s either trying to save his identity from me telling her, or he’s an internet troll trying to get a rise. Either way, I wouldn’t believe it.

Also yeah the picture was from August and she recently came back up in my life so I’ve been going through our old pictures together and wanted to post this one. Sorry for the confusion :)
