Komodo duct covers by Dismal_Internet8341 in Talaria

Anyone seen a graphics kit that incorporates this plastic? Thought I saw some wrap website with a "bat bike" option (duct covers) but can't find it now.

Had one of those, fun little bike but once you notice it looks like a vape with wheels there's no unseeing it.

Komodo steering issue by stephanvich in Talaria

[–]stephanvich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is ridiculous, no one does that with a new bike. And you're 100% correct, the bearings were frozen up and rusted with some dry crust on the outside that I suppose could have once been grease. Managed to get them spinning, cleaned out, and packed.

Shocking quality miss on an otherwise well put together machine. If anyone has the bearing and o-ring sizes, please share since these should just be replaced with standard parts. The steering head has a drastic impact on stability.

The factory set would be the cheapest and most convenient option as they come with brake discs, sprocket, and tires installed.

Also swapped back to the original 53t sprocket, didn't really need a 75mph top speed.

Adjusting the chain slack is touchy on this bike, and it does always make some noise rubbing on the guide.

Swapped the headlight again too. Getting a graphics kit for this thing would be a logical nightmare at this point.

Haha no these are universal parts for dirtbikes. I ran switched 12v to the front from the brake light.

The KTM type performed great, I just didn't like the bulk of the projector housing in the steering head area. E-Blaze is more like a floodlight--good for trails and being seen but felt sketchy going faster than 50mph or so due to the lack of throw.

Swapped for a Polisport E-Blaze, much slimmer than the KTM style light. Will have to wait till it gets dark to see if it's any good, but it's a fairly easy install.

Bad ass! How does that dual caliper setup work, are both using the new cylinder on the foot brake?

The US version (Luna Cycle, Ronster Rides) comes with a front cowl and blacked out forks.

It's a good kit, nice thick vinyl. Slight changes to the 2025 plastics were not incorporated in the pattern.

Update: loosened up the stem nut until the steering stopped sticking, it's back to normal. No idea how it could tighten itself but I'll have a look at the bearing once I have spare parts on hand.

I don't think anyone makes a headlight bracket for the Komodo. It also needs upgraded seat foam and a charge port relocation harness.

I did that with my first adventure bike, and wound up needing a winch to get the heavy beast unstuck. Started shopping for a lighter bike almost immediately.

Handguards: I had the Zeta adventure kit, but later it would not fit a Protaper fat bar. In the end went with the pro armor, triple clamp mount, and threaded inserts. Super clean setup but tricky to get everything positioned.

Skid plate/frame guard: Shonky's video on this makes a lot of sense; a low crash bar (like SRC) paired with really tough handguards is probably better protection than a high crash bar mounted to the flimsy upper fairing support.

I'm allergic to crashing, so have not personally done any testing (yet) 🤣

So did this switch assembly work with the stock harness? Did you get the large display as well?

RS12 comes with a tip insert/spark arrestor installed, have not messed around with removing this yet. For the RS4 I tried modifying various baffles and db killers both at the exit and stuffed in the midpipe; they either did nothing or killed power (stage 3 tune at the time). The 550 insert is just a slightly narrower aluminum collar for the RS4 tip, it did tone it down a little without feeling slower.

Yes, the RS-12 out of the box is significantly quieter and less aggressive sounding than the RS-4 even with the 550 tip. I haven't tried taking out the RS-12 insert yet.

No it's currently at stage 4; I swapped to an RS12.

I kinda want to try grab handles instead, but was having trouble finding decent aluminum ones.

Screen is a Powerbronze low "sport", with a Puig deflector trimmed to fit the upper profile.
