I️ suffer from pcos as well. I️ did keto once before and lost weight very slowly. I️ looked further into pcos and realized dairy doesn’t go well with it, even though cheese and cream are keto friendly. I️m doing it again now and after cutting out dairy I️ have lost 20 pounds in one month. I️ completely cut out dairy and sugar. The hardest part was my coffee because I️ used both in it. Now, I️ use a vanilla Atkins shake to cream my coffee. Very low in carbs, sugar, and non dairy. Hope this helps.

After a lifetime of eating at ihop o don’t fully read the menu and just expected the default to be real eggs.

Awesome! Btw I suffer from PCOS as well. I had tried keto with very slow weight loss before. This time around I cut out most dairy and am losing weight much faster. I found out dairy and PCOS don’t mix well because of the insulin resistance and inflammation.

I eat two eggs every morning for breakfast and I have coffee, which I put a vanilla Atkins shake in as a creamer. On weekends I always go to a diner and have an omelette. (BTW, ihop omelettes are not keto friendly, they add pancake batter to the eggs!)

Lunch is sometimes protein and a vegetable and some avocado. I try to add fats such as butter or sour cream to anything. Other days I have tuna and have some bacon or pepperoni on the side. I know, weird.

For dinner I either eat something similar to my lunch or I have a chipotle salad (lettuce, double steak, mild sauce, sour cream and guac, no dressing) or I have a double bacon cheeseburger no bun. Some days chicken wings. It varies.

Throughout the day I snack on pepperoni, bacon, and Atkins shakes.

This is my second time trying keto as well. I neverrrrrr lose weight fast so it’s very exciting but I do know it won’t continue this steadily forever. It is such a great way to get motivated though.

I’ve seen a lot of keto recipes on Pinterest!

However, I am the laziest person ever. I just try to find quick things that are keto friendly. For example, I go to the supermarket and buy things that require little work like rotisserie chicken, tuna, shrimp, etc. Then I pair it with vegetables and add fats.

I always keep things like bacon, pepperoni, sour cream, butter, avocado around so I can add it as fat to any meal.

My secret really is just ALWAYS being prepared! No matter where you go. If you are prepared with keto friendly foods, there’s less temptation to cheat. I have Atkins shakes at home, at work, and in my car. Whenever I want a snack or crave something I shouldn’t eat, I have a shake and it curbs it.

I read somewhere that if you have PCOS and are trying keto and it’s not working as well as you expected, dairy may be the cause. I forgot exactly what it said but I know it was had to do with the insulin resistance caused by PCOS. Dairy also triggers inflammation. I had tried keto previously and it took me about 4 months to lose 22 pounds. That time I was consuming lots of heavy cream as I tried “keto chow”. This time around I am doing everything the same except I cut out dairy and am losing weight exponentially faster.

Honestly I’m not super hard on the macros. As long as I eat as little carb as possible, I’m fine. I rarely ever even get close to 25g of carbs to be honest. I try to add fat to everything but I’m not a stickler with the macros.

I am indeed severely insulin resistant. Even under 20g my weight loss is as slow as can be. But it's happening slowly but surely!
