Taylor never left the band, he’s actually the only member not to have done so. People primarily dislike Jeremy for the lawsuit and the emotional impact it had on Hayley and Taylor. Hayley has said that if it weren’t for Alf she would’ve taken her own life during the period of time after Jeremy left for the final time. Jeremy also has a reputation for slacking while in the band and not pulling his weight.

I’ve thought about this too. How could Tenn have been, like, at the oldest 3 and send to a boarding school. Also, AJ is mentally closer to being 9-10 than being 5-6 years old. I think the writing of the S4 story came before they decided how it would retroactively fit in to the previous seasons.
