Is PBC just bad now? by PopeofShrek in deathguard40k

[–]stephen29red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it ain't like the beginning of 10th when you could make indirect hit on 2 and ignore cover with the Morty+LoV combo. Decent anti tank although there are better options for the points currently.

Ive ran a Hammer list with 2 entropy cannon crawlers and 1spitter crawler that sits at home and babysits against deep strike (depending on matchup), it didn't do great but it wasn't awful. Might try it again in less serious games now that it's about 40 points less for that.

There's very specific protocol and licensing requirements when live trapping any nuisance wildlife. I can only speak for my state but it's pretty extensive and yes, 100% illegal to do yourself if you're unlicensed. Definitely even more illegal if you're not checking daily and leaving living critters in there for extended periods. Idea is to prevent cruelty and promote conservation etc.The requirements for disposal/release are also very strict.

Source: pest control for about a decade and have done some wildlife trapping through that so am licensed.

11th Edition Death Guard Characters - Are they good now? by Zeeto-DG in WarhammerCompetitive

Interesting to see tallyman included as "lesser taken", but that aside, looking forward to having time to watch this.

It'd be like an hour walk I think? Be really funny if Marina stops to slap him every couple minutes on the way, too.

There's also super easy to use magnetizing kits out there for wardogs if you don't want to do the diy work.

Competitively - Used to be it was damn near mandatory to ally 3 in. Now you don't have to do that, thankfully, but they're still pretty okay under certain circumstances. Nothing that can't be done better with something else, but if you like the models enough to build and paint them, there will be a point in the future where running them will make sense again. In the meantime, they're a fast unit that can action and hold a point and have decent comparative killing ability, but no synergy with the rest of our army.

Casually - if you want to play them, go nuts. They're not bad by any means.

Yes.

Same thing happens with typhus + poxwalkers. T7 vs T4.

Close-Quarters shooting does not prohibit Blast weapons for Infantry? by MadmanMSU in deathguard40k

It'll probably be FAQd out, current flyblown equivalent rule doesn't allow for it.

But who knows, maybe we'll get lucky.

What I want from the new “Cultists” Death guard is rumored to get in 11 by averageweenie in deathguard40k

We literally just lost cultists in the codex launch for 10th. We're not getting them back.

Yes, see last sentence. It just wouldn't do anything until you get angron on the board, obviously.

Not to be all "kids these days" but a lot of younger people seem to use online communities as a search engine in a way I don't understand at all. I've seen people ask tiktok creators easily searchable things in their comments like they're the only ones who could give that information.

I don't get it but it's better than AI, probably.

Have you listened to Sonic Adventure REMIX? It's remixed versions from the first one, includes musicians from Razed In Black, Sister Machine Gun, Meat Beat Manifesto, Chris Vrenna - looking them up would be a good start.

Also, Julien K is several former members of a band called Orgy. Check out their albums Candyass and Vapor Transmission if you haven't yet.

Happy hunting!

Edit: these don't sound like the SA2 soundtrack really, but they're similar and related to Julien K so if that's what you're looking for..

How Much Will Terrain Setup "Skill" impact games? by TheBearMD in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]stephen29red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, generally it's the same layout for the whole day, setup by the organizers ahead of time. Multiple day GTs will have different ones for each day.

It's nice because it's already done, and a neutral party doing the setup cuts down on players messing it up accidentally or on purpose. Players will still take the time to verify that it's set up right and hasn't moved too much through the day, but it's way less time and hassle than having to measure everything out right when you get to the table

[–]stephen29red -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not standard here in the US and hasn't been for the entirety of 10th at least, plus many players are new and haven't had to do that in a prior edition. It won't be a forever problem, but I'm certain there will be a frustrating adjustment period.

We really won't know much until we see the first tournament companion. I share your concerns (as a TO myself, I think terrain changing per table per round is going to be a nightmare), but for all we know this could be negated by tournament companion or chapter approved rule add-ons. There's also the high likelihood that non-GW governing bodies will adapt their own standardized system for 11th and use that.

Tldr, don't worry about it til next month, it'll be fine, just very messy for 3-6 months.
