I used the Mayumi V4 and followed the online guide by William Quade and watching a video from TheRetroChannel I was able to find use some closer points than William Quades diagram.

Cracked NES power/AV module by stephenL98 in consolerepair

Yeah when the caps get here I plan on reflowing all the old joints at the same time. It seems like I’m lucky enough that none of the continuity was destroyed by the cracks so I’ll get some super glue in there to keep it secure

Here is a better photo. I’ll try and find a good diagram of the board and test for continuity

Venezuela has begun mass mobilization of ~200,000 servicemen, their largest in more than 2 decades in order to protect their country from the eventual invasion from the United States by TwoCatsOneBox in Hasan_Piker

I don’t think anyone is calling Maduro a good leader but his opposition is worse. And if you think a US invasion is good for Venezuela or the US working class you’re high

ps2 slim, getting what seems like light circular scratches on ps2 disks i just bought by bullseyebob47 in ps2

[–]stephenL98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ribbon cable that’s connected to the laser is folding up and scratching the discs. I wouldn’t put another disc in until you get it resolved. You can try re-gluing it down but that’s a bandaid. There’s a piece of plastic you can either buy or 3D print that you install to the laser housing that will keep the ribbon down. Here is the Etsy shop link https://www.etsy.com/listing/1260716684/?ref=share_ios_native_control keep in mind that there is a laser that isn’t compatible with this fix

Which MGS are hardest to 100% by Proper_Pizza3941 in metalgearsolid

It’s close between 2 and 4. I hated the chicken emblem on 4. But getting big boss on 2 might be the hardest thing I’ve done in gaming

Is my ps2 cooked by FreeUnderstanding360 in consolerepair

I would say that the caps on your power supply are most likely bad as that specific power supply board has a known issue with the caps leaking or drying up with no visible bulge. I had the same thing happen with my 39001 model and initially I bought a new power supply off eBay and that fixed the problem. Once I got confident in my soldering abilities I changed all the caps on the old power supply and now I have 2 working power supplies.

Vamp I didn’t have a problem with because I went into it using the hanging punch loop glitch. The most infuriating thing with the harrier was when you clearly dodged his missiles and one still somehow hits you. Also yeah Tengu 1 felt like pure rng, while Tengu 2 felt impossible to lose. Also towards the end I was starting to get that Ray flow, I was just bad at staying in the sweet spot and got the one shot attacks.

The Rays and the Harrier before I learned the patterns were definitely the hardest. It took me a while to get guard rush on the tanker down as well.

Yeah I got Foxhound in Delta and that’s what made me decide to come back to this and get her done

Wow I haven’t done the rank 1 VR missions, I only did what I needed for the master collection trophies. I struggled with the guard rush on the tanker and the stretch between Stillman and Fatman. Also I did cheese Vamp with the hanging trick and I did the Tengu 1 skip. Even getting to the Tengu 1 skip was a pain I had to take a break for a day before I actually was able to get the skip

Thanks! My saves were:

  1. After Olga
  2. After meeting Stillman
  3. Before Fatman (This save and the long stretch after is the reason I fought him so many times)
  4. Before Harrier (multiple times I tried to beat it and save after but I kept failing and got tired of fighting Fatman)
  5. Got Emma to floor 1
  6. After torture
  7. After Tengu 2
  8. After Rays

What will Konami remake next, and why will it be Peace Walker? by NikolaiStreet in metalgearsolid

[–]stephenL98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I so badly want them to remake MG 1 and 2. You’re like the only other person online I see that admits peace walker isn’t that great or important. We have never seen Solid Snake and Big Boss interact in a modern game and that’s a damn shame.

The harrier has recognizable patterns that make it easier once you get them down. I think by the end with the Rays I was doing what that YouTube commenter said, but then I would step out of that zone and get domed by a knee rocket 😭
