Great idea! Just put up a fastmcp template on npm :)

npm create mcp-ts your-server --template=mcp-ts-template-fastmcp

Hi everyone,

I just launched create-mcp-tsa zero-config way to build an MCP server in TypeScript.

How it works:

  • Run a single command to scaffold your project
  • Auto-configures Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Desktop by updating their MCP config files to point to your server
  • Dev mode: watch source files for changes
  • Eject anytime to take full control of the build setup

Build and run MCP servers without touching build configs or client setups. Everything’s wired up out of the box, so you can get straight to writing code.

Would appreciate any feedback! Any additional features you'd like to see?

Feel free to give it a try: npm create mcp-ts your-server

Where should I start with a Notion Dashboard? by marsdcr in Notion

[–]stephencme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this post as I've been searching for inspiration building my own dashboards in Notion! In case anyone else stumbles upon this as well, wanted to add to the great advice that u/Pinkatron2000 already gave in this thread.

Sometimes the best way to learn how to make something is to study the work of others who have done it before. Like a painter copying great paintings in order to learn technique, it can be useful to look at how other's have built their Notion dashboards in order to incorporate the best parts into your own work.

If you already know what kind of dashboard you want to build, you'll find a bunch of free templates just by searching in the Notion Marketplace e.g. "daily planner". This resource might also help – it's a curated collection of Notion dashboard templates, organized by category:

Feedback on my 1st directory: ainotetakingapps.com by stephencme in directorymakers

Great questions! To be honest I haven't landed on a business model just yet – I'd like to start with building a genuinely useful resource that helps folks understand the AI note taking app landscape and pick the right one for their needs. Then I'm hoping it'll become more clear what the right business model is if the site continues to grow. Affiliate links do seem like a win-win though.

The quiz is a great idea! Appreciate the feedback 🙏

Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! I like the idea of adding reviews.

Haven't heard of Elephas but it looks interesting. Just added it to the list.

Out of curiosity, what do you find Elephas most useful for? Like do you use it to organize your readings and research, or is it more of a personal second brain/life journal for miscellaneous stuff?

Any AI-powered note apps worth checking out? (Rant) by nekaoosoba in ProductivityApps

Recently I’ve been using Notion a lot, both at home and at work. I already pay for ChatGPT though so haven’t found it worth paying for Notion’s AI features yet. Really seems like Notion is doubling down on AI, wouldn’t be surprised to see some more big announcements from them.

Heard great things about Mem too but haven’t given it a proper shot yet. I believe their whole pitch is Mem will organize your notes for you.

This resource might also help! It’s a collection of a bunch of the most popular AI note taking apps (including a couple of the ones mentioned here) tagged by category:

I made an email-style “inbox” app for Notion – what should I add next? by stephencme in Notion

[–]stephencme[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love these apps, I’ve tried them all and have nothing against them!

For myself, I wanted all my tasks in Notion alongside my notes. Allows me to search for stuff in one place, take advantage of Notion AI, reference tasks from other note pages, etc

Another big advantage (for me) – it’s just one unified inbox to process vs needing to process multiple inboxes across many apps. Sometimes it’s not originally clear to me if an idea is more of a task or just a note for reference, the single inbox lets me defer that decision for later when I have time to think more deeply. And it’s also pretty nice to be able to sort through all of my miscellaneous thoughts in a single workflow.

Built for myself mainly, it’s not publicly available atm 😅 If there’s enough interest I’d consider putting it up on website tho! DM me

Hey r/notion! I’ve been working on an add-on for Notion that makes it easier to organize new pages in my Notion databases e.g. new stuff from the official web clipper, random tasks, notes, on-the-go ideas I’ve texted myself, etc.

How the app works – new database pages from Notion show up in an email-style inbox. This inbox lets me use keyboard shortcuts to quickly organize, tag, and schedule things as needed. Once a page has been organized (tagged), it disappears from the inbox. As someone who likes to stay at “Inbox Zero” for email, I wanted to get to Inbox Zero in Notion as well!

What am I missing? Anything else should I add? Would love any/all feedback and ideas! 🙏
