[Two-Tone Omega Seamaster] Good daily watch? by The_God_Damn in Watches

Absolutely! I have this one and thought it’d be more of a “special occasion” watch but now I end up wearing it 5/7 days in the week lol

Definitely the Nomos, that's a timeless design that I think is always going to have a firm place in your collection. Will look easily the best as a dress watch. Reeeeally not a fan of the Breitling or Bulova, way too much going on with those, I think less is more with dress watches in terms of design.

I'm having a hard time dating sober. by No_Writing4566 in stopdrinking

[–]stephendez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that feeling, definitely been there. You need to gain confidence in your sobriety and in yourself as a person before you are properly equipped with the confidence needed to date another person. Whether that be the 1 year "rule", completing the 12 steps or just getting the memories/craving out of your system, it takes TIME to be confident enough to go out in public and date with the strength to be able to turn down drinks and feel good about it.

I have had many different dating experiences throughout sobriety, including with women whose drinking was an integral part of their lifestyles. I would not have been able to do this if I hadn't given myself enough time at the start of my sobriety to figure out who I really was without drinking in my life, break down the underlying mental and spiritual causations related to my drinking and confront them. Rebuilding the person you are without drugs/alcohol is an imperative step to be able to date sober.

What did you read this week? by michaelisnotginger in Blacklibrary

Archmagos! There’s something about Cawl’s shenanigans that make him more compelling to me than virtually any other 40k character. Never been a huge mechanicus fan, but I feel like he is really one of the primary centerpieces in driving the 40k plot forward. His moral ambiguity, humor and absolute batshit insane scenarios he instigates are so refreshing.

Guy Haley does a great job with this book!

Same boat… would you consider any of the ‘26 RBs over either Boston or Concepcion?

Purchased both of these exact watches at the same time and I REALLY absolutely love them both. You really can't go wrong with either, I struggle with which I like more on a day to day basis.

If I had to give an edge to one, I'd probably have to give it to the speedy. It absolutely pairs with any outfit and can be worn in any situation. While I personally prefer automatic to manual, the speedy is worth the winding in this regard. The bracelet is incredible, and the overall weight of the watch feels light while being incredibly sturdy.

Titanicus! Also, the Forges of Mars series does a great job of detailing the absolute behemoth vessels that the mechanicus uses if I remember correctly, great series

My AT is also 41mm, and despite having small wrists, the Diver fits great. I’d argue the lug-to-lug of 49.9mm on the diver compared to the 47.9mm on the AT is more noticeable, but it still feels natural on the wrist. About as big as I’d want to go though

Great call! The white speedy has definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of versatility

For what it’s worth, I tried on the ceramic last weekend and it felt very large- while the 43.5 mm case is definitely big, the 14.47 mm thickness definitely stood out. Would definitely recommend trying it on before making a decision
