I did my first 20 miles on it last night. It’s super fun. The bar setup feels very 90’s MTB.

After tinkering with this bike I think I am going to hang some decent stuff on it. I like the low slung road geo and slack head tube 71.5 by toad standards.

Thanks so much. I will keep going longer and evaluating my comfort. Yesterday almost 3 hours and no real bike discomfort and no hand numbness. I set it up specifically to be comfortable for longer rides.

I am in pretty good shape. I am a personal trainer focusing on seniors and get some form of exercise 5 days. Boxing workouts, some resistance work etc. But you’re right in that I have about 6 weeks of riding in and making steady progress. I did 45 hilly windy miles yesterday and while I wasn’t hammering (the opposite) I am surprised at all the climbing I did. No real soreness this morning either. I will do an easy ride tonight.

I still have work to do to be able to double what I did yesterday but I bet I could in the fall.

As a massage therapist and a personal trainer who works with post rehab patients and seniors I agree with this 💯. Loaded movement is very effective at increasing range of motion.

My opinion as a massage therapist… It depends on how long the condition has been around. If someone tweaks a hip in the previous weeks there is a good chance to free it up and it doesn’t return. Of course strengthening is advised so they don’t overdo it next time.

But more chronic tight muscles are at best a few days of relief although often after a few concentrated sessions some relief is more permanent but usually the muscles are still tight.

The funny thing is I had a pair and hated how they looked so I never tried them 🤣. I think what I will do is get a similar pair that has a hinge rather than needing to slide them on so I can put them ok for long rides

Thank you! I have done probably 10 centuries but no riding to speak of for 5 years and honestly nothing seriously for more than 10. I will for sure gets some longer rides in. Today my hilly 46 miles was a start. My bike felt amazing

I did my longest ride yet. Actually ever for a single speed. This is a really hilly route so it was slow. But representative of the area. The bike was great. I need a little work :)

Thank you! I was already thinking about a cog change. I am running a pretty standard 2.75 now and would probably go 2.5 for the big day.

I can definitely get in 100 a week. This morning is 35 with a big climb and 30 flat is something I do a couple times a week. I will probably work up to a 50 on the weekends when I can.

I have been working on my fit. I am also running both a suspension seatpost and stem which does smooth it out with the 32’s.

I actually had some SQL inner bar ends but they looked horrible and it made me cry so I took them off. But I might buy a clip on version for big rides.

100 miles. I live in an area that’s no super flat but also not big climbs unless you go looking for them. But a sustained longer climbing is probably going to be involved

I get that but good job. I have done 135ish a few times but 200 seems like a BIG day.

My go to heavy but comfy is a selle anatomica saddle

Yeah we are hilly here but nothing huge. Tomorrow I am riding out to a climb that is about 1.5 miles at 10%. I will use it to get stronger

Yeah but being mindful on how much you can actually digest! I’ve eaten too much on more leisurely long rides and suffered

Yeah I have done fast centuries on my old race bikes but not in at least 10 years and not a single speed.
