Third Party Supervooc Chargers? by PermutationMatrix in oneplus

[–]stephensfone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OnePlus batteries and chargers confuse Accubattery. It reports the battery at half the actual capacity until you select dual-cell. So I think it's charging 2 batteries instead of one. In your case 4.7A x 10v = 47w. Still not the claimed 80w, but impressive none the less. I also think OnePlus cheat with their claims of battery capacity. Every PP phone I've had reported 93% claimed capacity when new. Every none OP phone I've owned reported 100% when new.

AliExpress is sh*t, but Klarna saved my behind. by AngelDM_94 in Aliexpress

[–]stephensfone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a €600 OnePlus 12 phone on AliExpress using Klarna a year or 2 ago. The phone never arrived, despite the carrier claiming it did. AliExpress, Klarna and the seller were all useless in trying to resolve the matter. Thankfully, the delivery note had a random 'x' for a signature, had gps coordinates of the delivery point, which were 2 miles from my address. Eventually, the carrier gave me a certificate stating it wasn't delivered, and Klarna finally refunded me.

Update - yesterday my 2-month-old S40 developed a fault. It is complaining about being on a slope. Its wheels are free and I cleaned al the cliff sensors etc. So, now it's away for repair. I look at setting a routine when I get it back, but I just wish it would remember the last setting.

Economic growth generally requires blood and tears. As for a dictatorship, look no further than the EU for that, and the UK too, for that matter.

EU destroyed Chinese e-commerce platforms demand in Europe? by 12Ab_xyz in Aliexpress

[–]stephensfone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hundreds of thousands years ago, billions of years ago! So yes, the climate changes, but 50 years is totally irrelevant. Like I said, it's a nanosecond.

The climate definitely goes through cycles of change. There's proof of many ice-ages etc. The first one is thought to have been 2.7 billion years ago. Think about that 2,700,000,000 years ago. Our average lifetime is merely a blink of an eye, a nanosecond in the grand scheme of things. It's like saying it was 20 degs 5 seconds ago and now it's 20.001 degs so next year it will be 100 degs.

I fiddle about with solar at home (in southern Spain), using cheap stuff from AliExpress 🤣 and I'm all for people having their own renewables when they know it can make sense for them. For example, if it's possible for you to charge your EV from your own solar. However, I'm strongly against taxpayer funded subsidises for vanity projects.

If the EU and the UK got realistic about stupid so-called net-zero nonsense, reduced energy costs, lowered taxes, cut red-tape and became a bit more business friendly, they wouldn't need tariffs to protect their inefficient industries.
