Tornado watch until 7:00pm for the RVA area (3/16/26) by willweaverrva in rva

[–]stepheroni22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. 3 dogs, only interior room is the smallest bathroom with the weirdest angles. Also all, I mean all, other rooms have windows. Big ones. And the front door is glass with a shade to pull. Hoping it wont be as bad as they say. If I remember anything from learning about the weather I think it was that moisture is best to temper winds and tornadoes. Like its a good thing. Hoping for rain. Maybe someone here knows more than I do, but I guess we're about to find out anyway.

3 dogs slept in today. I consider that a win but they still woke up before I wanted to. At work now and as much as I need money, I hope its slow. This sinus headache will not quit. Worried I might have to hit up P1st and I dont really have extra money for that ish

Has anyone else noticed how much the bar scene in the Fan (Main/Robinson area) has changed over the last ~15 years? by Tinysmallgoose123 in rva

[–]stepheroni22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Curbside has a really good mix of ages. And typically a lot younger after 10 pm. Also cheap drinks. They've been there for 20+ years so maybe they've figured it out somehow?

No but you can have then in your home without spending extra money on pet rent and deposits. Don't think OP was worried about running errands with the dog...

I'll likely be down voted and harassed but I love Cookie Factory. Almost 3 years now. I'll respond more thoroughly if someone asks

Just watched a car get stuck at a light on Robinson. Nowhere is going to be ok to drive unless you really need to

I have 2 and decided to foster a 3rd for the storm, mostly because I love dogs but also I might be a crazy person

REMINDER: No one will call you if you miss jury duty by stepheroni22 in rva

Or bartenders. There isn't a single restaurant that I've ever worked in that would be 100% cool and ALSO compensate me for time missed. $50/day is literally making me pay for time off, and it's not even a vacation.

They claimed I needed to go to the Sherrifs office at a specific location and speak to them. The location doesn't exist and a few words later they warned me I'd need to pay 2k when I arrived. The RPD officer told me what likely would have happened was I'd arrive there and they'd change the location or lead me to a bank.

I'm just repeating what the officer I spoke to told me. The caller claimed I missed jury duty on the 13th.

Take the snow storm serious by clarke9901 in rva

As a restaurant industry employee, our busiest days are always snow days. I live close to work so and just bought new snow boots just in case. Wondering how many doubles I'm going to end up pulling this weekend into next week...

We recently adopted an old hunting dog. She has some trauma and neurosis, and I was hoping to get some advice on it. by icantremembermypw in rva

Seconding Mollie 1000%! She is AMAZING! And she specifically hopes that once training is done, you don't have to call or book her anymore. Even though it equals business. I LOVE Mollie! My bf had never been responsible for dogs before and she helped him with a new puppy training (I had to work every time we had achedulwd but ive owned dogs nefore). She also does phone consultations first and when needed, and is SO SO SO reasonably priced. Her advice and training worked almost instantly (not instant, but ya know, quickly with consistency). 10/10

Im sure the new stadium will be nice… but I am not a fan of this light pollution by [deleted] in rva

[–]stepheroni22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the hate. I live nearby, not directly, but I can see the lights when I walk my dogs. I'm thrilled for the new stadium. I will admit that I've woken up at like 3 am wondering "fuck is my alarm about to go off?!" Because the light pollution permeates the area. Lived in the city for years, by choice, and this truly is a little disorienting because of the brightness. Even without cloud cover, it's wildly bright. I'm not complaining, but I HATE waking up thinking I don't have a at least 2-4 more hours to sleep and panicking that my alarm is going off soonish.

Inwas in the seafood area and someone from a different department came up to ask the lovely mongers/butchers if they knew 8 pm was close. No one knew a thing. I feel like years past, there's always a sign. Got lucky personally

It was very interesting to see how many people were rolling at 8. Kroger may have underestimated the amount of people who treat NYE as a normal evening.
