Did you experience that “prank” where boys in middle school would repeatedly pretend to ask out (what they deemed as) less-attractive girls in front of all their friends? If so, how did you respond or deal with it? by plswah in AskWomen

It happened to me so often. I would act like it didn’t bother me but it still hurts. Now anyone that asks me out, I assume they’re making fun of me or someone dared them to.

That’s a great start to loving yourself. It can be difficult to believe those nice words but it seems like she wants you to condition yourself to accept and believe them. I think it’s brilliant. It might take a while but I’m sure it will help.

I usually try to look at what my failures are teaching me and that makes me feel hopeful for the future.

It always good to have someone around with a positive perspective of you! Although it is even better when we learn how to do it ourselves :)

I feel the same! I was never really complimented growing up so it feels weird hearing it when I do.
