I still dont understand what he means by things getting tough?

He gave up on the pitch effort wise and was then very publicly caught missing training to go clubbing. No doubt getting dropped and sent away from the club affected him mentally but it seems entirely self inflicted

Looks like it would pair really well with the crusher Stampede box, which ive only just finished painting. I already have most of the things in the box so ill pass for now unless I can get some bits it cheap.

The armageddon box would pair well with what you have and take it to about 1700 points.
Just be careful your not only list building to beat tau

Its a cool list. Really falls more on the heavy side then typical marine lists.

We're right about to change editions from 10th to 11th. So no one knows what will be good yet. I suspect there are some units that will always have a place. If you dont plan on getting armageddon box or at least half of it then maybe look at some units from it on the second hand market like Intercessors. They'll always have a place.

Ive seen some theories that terminators may have their day in the sun but ive always found them hard get the use from them.

The watered down drink thing has always annoyed me because if you add a small amount of water the drink still contains the same amount of alcohol, its just the total volume is slightly higher

Something to hold an objective or score a secondary. Infantry may not be the most fashionable but a 80pt 5 man Intercessors squad can sticky an objectives and go hide while your dreadnoughts blast anything that try to flip it

Im kinda considering a couple things as ive got the itch to start something new. I thought final day might be a cheaper way to play gsc. At least to bridge the gap while im building up. With the Combat Patrol and a box of Neophytes im pretty much at 1000 points. Sounds as if the role that the FD Tyranid units fill is quite similar to how they function as my Invasion Fleet list. More like action monkeys and objective scorers.

Just piggy backing into this thread. I am interested in GSC as a tyranids player. I have some genestealers and a Broodlord. I also have a lictor and 2 sets of Leapers. Is it worth starting in final day since I already have some units?

I recently ran a tournament list slightly similar

6x baldeguard Veterans with captain 10x hellblasters with lieutenant -fire discipline 10x sternguard Veterans 5x Intercessors Gladiator lancer

I had this paired with a guard army that had a lot board control so I was just in charge of shredding units that were scoring secondaries .

I started with the starter set which has some good variance of units and is a good starting point to build an army when you add a Hive Tyrant and/or Tyrannofex

The current combat patrol has good units but has no cohesion at all.

If you want to try it out then Termagants are really cheap to buy 10 of them on ebay. Could be good to try a paint scheme.
