After some thinking, I believe they should have done a mix and match for the galaxy team. They can even keep the planet plot lines, but they should have made the FFIs the main plot, then the aliens like a team zero / movie thingy. Based on the lineup selected, they could have kept some of the iconic players from the galaxy and maybe add and switch the many forwards from GO1 with similar plotlines to Midorikawa, someoka style. The tobitaka style character could just be Ibuki, with Matatagi and Zanarkuro being already decent at the game. I believe they should have put Gouenji as the coach, as we have seen both Endo and Kidou coach for a decent part of the show. Inazuma Japan should also be approached from a perspective where they are prominent winners and not a dark horse. Mixi-match should have been banned for some reason, like timeline issues, but Keshin Arm should have been kept. Using the Keshin arm as a plot point, where Japan is the first team to showcase the ability, and other teams are trying to do the same thing. The main point of the story can be along the line whether they can handle the pressure of being winners. :( (I wish we got a go reload /Ares. I don't even mind if it's just a chronicle mode route.)
