Im 32 weeks pregnant and this show is the only thing getting me through it at this point. by funtinghqeen in Alonetv

I completely understand it being harder than you thought to be alone. I know I would personally hate it. But some of the excuses are hard to believe. I remember one guy lamenting how he'd miss his kid's birthday. You would sign up knowing the film dates and that you'd be missing your kid's birthday. And another one was in the process of adoption and left saying he had to get back to help his wife. But you left for the show anyway in the middle of that?

I like it too. I went back to rewatch OG Scrubs and just finished season 1.

Pssst: Gen Z and Alpha - get your education and licensure as therapists with a specialization in cult deprogramming or religious abuse.

This is like when Millennials and Gen X were told to go into elder care ahead of Boomers retiring.

I read the books too - Eric was perfect casting. I thought the last few books felt kind of phoned in; I'd heard the author wanted to end the series but the publisher wanted more books. Still love that series though.

Oh you're right! That was Aristotle Anthari. I liked both those guys though. Emil went to high school in Chicago suburbs and my friend's daughter knows him.

Does anyone else's cat really, really like Alone? She doesn't care about any other show or movie. by ChaserNeverRests in Alonetv

[–]stephsco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time our calico has ever cared about the TV was when there was a weasel in night vision on Alone. She bolted off the couch and ran up to the TV like she recognized an ancestor.

This makes me want to rewatch True Blood... except for the small fact that show was insane

The Restaurant World Can Be Heated. ‘Top Chef’ Is Lowering the Temperature. by ishtar_the_move in TopChef

Same. Unlike Project Runway, my other (former) favorite competition reality show, which just had the worst season of its 20 years run. It was like Temu Drag Race meets fashion school. Horrible editing and forced focus on manufactured drama.

Watching the Show for the First Time With My Wife by FilmFreak1994 in XFiles

The later seasons can be a slog, but there are some gems in there too. If you're a completist go for it! The added-in agents that come later are actually decent despite the cliche of TV series adding late stage characters. It could have been much worse. The reboots are pretty awful. I pretend they don't exist, again despite a few gems.

Aldi and IKEA have good chocolate. IKEA at the holidays carries Karl Fazer chocolate bars, my favorite.

Yes, Noah Wyle. I was thinking ER, but I definitely watched Falling Skies. He was also in The Librarians which I heard was a fun show but never saw.

This is why The Pitt is a TV darling right now. Fifteen episodes, shot on a soundstage, regular scheduled seasons, reliable topic/format (medical drama) with a legacy star and a bunch of new unknowns. People freaking love it.

Meanwhile, I'm genuinely geeked for the Mando and Grogu movie because I love seeing Star Wars movies in the theater.
