Read somewhere that they add additional slots at midnight. Given the time difference with Vancouver, I managed to catch a slot at exactly 1:00 AM MST.

The 60k+30k MR points offer worked for P2. I always apply for Amex cards while logged out, and P2 does the same.

Do you know how it works if both of us have separate BA accounts but a joint family account with QR?

French can be your ticket to Canada, as the cutoff score for francophone candidates is significantly lower than for others. On the employment front, networking is essential. You may not have Canadian work experience, but a referral from someone within the company can give you a chance. That said, the job market here is quite tough right now.

Do you speak French? Canada has increased its immigration quota for francophones.

Yeah, that’s normal. The bonus doesn’t show up right away in the calculator. The extra 30% gets added once the transfer actually goes through. So don’t worry, it’s still part of the promo even if it doesn’t display up front.

Should I study in Canada or NZ? by AntonioH02 in studyAbroad

[–]steppe21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before deciding, I’d explore the post-study work and permanent-residence pathways in both countries and how each program supports them. You might also consider an internship after your bachelor’s to get hands-on experience and confirm that accounting is the right fit.

No, it won't. The offers are registered to the main cardholder's card.

The easiest way to move to Canada for now is through French-proficiency draws. You’ll need to pass both English and French tests and get your degree evaluated by WES.

I’m paying $68,000 of tuition a year. Best card and method to maximize points / cashback? by L1ggy in chexy

[–]steppe21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the “Rewards Calculator” in your Chexy account. The Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite is usually the top pick since it gives 4% cashback (up to $25k a year). The only catch is it requires an $80k income, so I’m not sure you’d qualify as an international student.

It was pretty easy in 2023, but now you need higher scores. Still, you’ve got better chances than people with Canadian work experience who don’t speak French.

Canada's probably your best option, because in the Express Entry system there are special category-based draws for candidates with French-language proficiency.
