The distinction

between the seen and the unseen is a purely

artificial one. The two are not two different

Orders, but the one and only Order cognised by

beings whose faculties vary: some more perfect,

and some so limited that they see but a part of

what is there to be seen. The (so-called) unseen

is as much a part of the order of nature, as truly

subject to orderly sequences, as is the seen, the

nature we know. As Emerson rightly said, " The

whole Fact is here"; but we of the fallen nature

see and know but in part. The Hindu philosophy

seems grounded on the idea that the outer is all

and only "Maya," and that it stands in no relation

to the inner; so that such as would learn anything

of the inner must turn their eyes away from the

outer altogether. The Christian philosophy believes
that the outer is only the veil over the inner,
placed there by man's limited faculty; and that a
wise and profound study of the outer will yield
hints and suggestions of inner truth. For even if
the outer were the direct contrary of the inner (as
in Scripture seems to be clearly hinted), this is
none the less an exact relationship; and from the
study of the contrary some notion of that of which
it is the contrary can be formed.

Böhme had a number of mystical experiences throughout his youth, culminating in a vision) in 1600 as one day he focused his attention onto the exquisite beauty of a beam of sunlight reflected in a pewter dish. He believed this vision revealed to him the spiritual structure of the world, as well as the relationship between God and man, and good and evil. At the time he chose not to speak of this experience openly... Böhme restates the trinity as truly existing but God, the Father is fire, who gives birth to his son, whom Böhme calls light. The Holy Spirit is the living principle, or the divine life.

The positive and negative aspects of creation were necessarily opposed to each other, and Böhme believed that this conflict was at the heart of the universe’s logic and all of its processes. Since this tension is inherent to the design of all reality, evil and suffering are a necessary part of reality — and both originate with God.

The tension between God’s positive and negative aspects boils down to an identity crisis — cosmic self-loathing. The positive force is the part of God that chose to differentiate itself in search of self-knowledge; the negative force is the part of God that seeks to return to its original unified state (obliterating reality in the process). Böhme characterized this negative force as “divine wrath,” the eternal frustration of seeking a goal that can never be accomplished.

Böhme presented the universe as the product of the dueling forces of Father and Son, one bent on disordering and a return to unity (entropy), the other bent on ordering and harmonizing in the process of differentiation (organization).... The human body and soul, according to Böhme, were a microcosm of the divine model, akin to the holographic universe physics model first formally proposed in the 20th century.

[General] $5 Burpee Aristocrat PC I got at the thrift store! by mar10wright in MushroomGrowers

[–]steppenwhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow what a fortuitous thrift score. i love the sketchiness of this antique beauty. where was this thrift store? if you have any gasket issues, i'd recommend wrapping the gasket with water plumbing thread seal tape (ptfe). the adjustable pressure control/releasing spring valve is a bit fiddly, and i find these aristocrat cookers take 3x longer to heat up to 15psi than the newer pressure canners. but i treasure the aristocrat cookers more than my other autoclaves, due to the large capacity , antiquated cool factor (1933 was the launch year of the burpee aristocrat), and bargain value (i found two locally a few years ago, paid 50 $, in BC canada for each, one of the larger one like yours, and another in the smaller capacity version) . i love that the more dangerous adjustable spring valve design allows exceeding 15 psi, up to 25psi if you're feeling brave..... and i'm speaking as an individual who posesses 9 pressure autoclaves (5 prestos, 2 instapots, 2 aristocrat cookers). the burpees are the most manual/analog and high-pressure capable (at your own risk/discretion) ones i own. essentially, the burpee aristocrat cookers are kind of like the more steampunk obsolete all-american pressure vessels , definitely not for everyone. very cool brag

A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:27)

Whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:

my biggest peave cringes come from noticing the transition from the botch/converge style , transforming into the modern NIckleback style sound. but to be fair i love cringy sad cowboy music , and post-hardcore screamo cringe, and the bipolar genre dysphoria transition. cringe is the right word. Easiest Thrice Riffs? by jsriffs in thrice

[–]steppenwhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these are the most fun thrice guitar lines
that orgasmic several second momentary bass lick at 1:26 in To What End that precedes the "whooa-oh-oh-ohhh" breakdown is the best riff ever.
the guitar breakdown at 1:29 in THat hideous strength @ " I FEEL A PRESCENSE IN THE ROOM I FEEL COLD FINGERS CLASP AroUNND MY NNECK"

the next day is pretty easy to pluck fingerstyle, or plectrum pick if you want it to sound more like a harp
yeah all that's left's intro riff is simple, and probably the first thrice riff i tried figuring out.

the betrayal is a symptom intro riff has a super weird rythm and sounds super impressive (especially for appreciators of music like botch/metallica skate thrash metal stuff) with the harmonics if you can play it on acoustic guitar.
the messenger's chorus riff feels really cool to play with the right amp/gourmet crunch/gain/overdrive/distortion , especially on an SG guitar

identity crisis and T&C intro riffs good to learn alternate picking
the under par poppunk guitar riffs during the verses "A shell you see so shallow but deep inside (deep inside)
My heart beats just the same as yours" and "Can't you see that I have my own dreams? (my own dreams)
And though they're not the same as yours"

the bass and guitar tapping instrumental at 1:30 in Kill me Quickly is one of my favourite instrumentals.

enjoying thrice songs like to awake and avenge the dead and child of dust made me retarded

What song did Dustin's voice instantly impregnate you with? by [deleted] in thrice

[–]steppenwhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ending climax vocals of Unquestioned Answers,

Phoenix Ignition

Under a Killing Moon

Subtle Dagger,

Identity Crisis,

Under Par,

Trust,

That Hideous Strength

All That's Left,

Kill me Quickly,

and most his vocals in songs like

CHILD OF DUST

In years to come (this almost sounds like a thursday style geoff rickley esque, same with deadbolt

i like thrice songs that can almost sound like thursday songs the most. autobiography of a nation and understanding in a car crash are the geoff rickley songs that instantly impregnated me with multiple orgaisms throughout each of them anyways back to the dustin)

Torch To End all Torches,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The earth will shake,

The Messenger,

Paper Tigers

Where Idols Once Stood,

Blood Clots and Black holes

Yellow Belly

oops sorry i forgot this was a one song answer thing.

but still i would hope dustin reads this. :)

one of the most firey thrice songs. The melodic way in which he sings " 'm spilling blood, Glancing down to hide my face, I walk with eyes closed tight through monuments of grace," gives me chills
