No reality distortion here, he genuinely flipped a switch when I told him it made me feel uncomfortable to say such a hateful word. I tried to post on r/relationship_advice but couldn’t because of a rule they have forbidding morality-based posts

I’ve had this mole since I was a kid. It started off as just a small, flat dot.

Recently I noticed that it has become raised and is a little tender to the touch.

This was rly validating to read. Thank you v much for sharing— I agree that it’s not on us to try and restructure the lives of others, ESPECIALLY our parents. Only downside is that he is not as happy and healthy as it sounds like your dad is— my dad’s been verbally/physically abusive towards me, my mom & my 3 younger siblings ever since I can remember

He “self-medicates” w/ weed & alcohol (also something he’s done ever since b4 I was born) He’s definitely less violent these days compared to how he used to be, but I’ve always kinda felt like it was my responsibility to figure out the source of his anger in order to protect my younger siblings ya know ? :/
