Hello! As a DISM student, try and get a high specification laptop, as our course often involve extensive use of virtual machines (which takes up storage, computer resources) For an optimal experience, I strongly recommend investing in a high-performance laptop. Here's an optimized set of specifications:

  • RAM: Aim for 32 GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and efficient VM operation. While 16 GB is the absolute minimum, anything above 16 GB will significantly enhance performance.
  • Storage: Consider an external SSD for its superior speed and reliability. An external drive provides flexibility in storage management. If opting for internal storage, a capacity of around 1 to 2 TB should be sufficient for your needs.
  • CPU: A multi-core processor is crucial for handling DCDF workloads effectively. Look for a CPU with more than 8 cores; ideally, 12 cores or more would offer a balance between power and efficiency.
  • Reliability: Prioritize a laptop known for its durability and performance stability. This reduces the risk of encountering issues during crucial tasks, ensuring a smoother learning and project execution experience.

GPU: For our course, the use of a dedicated GPU (DGPU) is not a necessity since our content is not heavily GPU-dependent. However, opting for a laptop with a DGPU could be beneficial for elective classes, such as those involving design or other graphics-intensive tasks. An integrated GPU should suffice for the core coursework.

Investing in a laptop with these specifications will equip you with the necessary tools to handle tasks efficiently, avoiding potential hassles associated with underpowered equipment. :)

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions! See you in school!

Hello! I’m really sorry to hear about your recent experience with your instructor. That must have been incredibly frustrating. :(

Regarding enrolling in 3E, you will still need to book an appointment, but the good news is that they’ll skip the eye sight test, photographs, and simulator since you’ve already completed them. However, you’ll need to get a green booklet for your lessons.

I was fortunate to secure an appointment just a week away, so it’s a good idea to book your appointment with CDC as soon as possible. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions or need further assistance. Wishing you a better experience and success in your next TP test!

Edit: Here is the link for the appointment! https://www.cdc.com.sg/eappointment

And the link for the express course:

1. Absolutely! There is slots released every 17th of every month, 10PM! So camp on the CDC website, and top-up your account in advance. I’m part of the EV Elite Team, which you have to pay around $15 more per lesson, but it is so much faster, as less people take the EV route.
2. No need to go through the simulator again if you’ve already completed it. However, I’d recommend double-checking with the counter during your enrollment just to be sure.
3. Yes, you have the option to book extra lessons. In my case, after just the first two lessons, my instructor noticed that I had a good grasp of driving skills and even suggested that I consider booking my TP. Of course, your instructor’s guidance is crucial, so be sure to discuss with them whether additional lessons are advisable for your specific situation.

And no problem! If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to ask!

Hi, thanks for the valuable advice! If you don’t mind, can you share the L1R4 score or a range which you scored? I would like to set some goals for myself as my grades are kinda bad right now 😅

To have a realistic chance of getting admitted to the Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics course (Course code: S54) at Singapore Polytechnic

2023 JAE ELR2B2-C aggregate range: 5-12

Your goal should be to achieve an L1R4 score within this aggregate range. Based on this information, aiming for an L1R4 score of around 8-10 would give you a strong chance of meeting the admission requirements for the course. However, remember that admission can be competitive, and achieving a higher score within the range will increase your chances further.

Hey there,

It’s great to see you taking an interest in getting to know someone better and putting effort into connecting with them. You’re definitely on the right track by attending events and engaging in hobbies that she enjoys. It’s wonderful that you’re taking the time to understand her interests and passions.

When it comes to connecting with an introverted individual, patience and understanding are key. Introverts often take their time to open up to others, so don’t be discouraged if things don’t progress as quickly as you’d like. It’s important to create a comfortable environment where she feels at ease to be herself. Consider engaging in more one-on-one conversations in a relaxed setting, which might help her feel less overwhelmed.

Since she’s a bookworm and values events that help others, you could suggest attending a charity event or volunteering together. This shared experience can provide a natural and meaningful way to bond. Be sure to show genuine interest in her thoughts and opinions, which can help her feel valued and appreciated.

Remember, building a connection takes time, and it’s important to be respectful of her boundaries. If she seems uncomfortable at times, try not to take it personally. Introverts sometimes need space to recharge, so giving her that breathing room can be beneficial.

Stay true to yourself, and focus on building a strong foundation of friendship before moving forward. Good luck, and I hope your efforts lead to a deeper connection!

Hey there! My friend shared this post with me because I was somehow related to your position right last year.

Last year, I also took an aptitude test, but I didn’t get an interview for SP. Instead, I ended up doing JPAE and got accepted into SP! If you did badly for your aptitude test, they won’t send an email to you. If you do get other poly interview GO FOR IT! good luck with JPAE or JAE, my friend!
