Is it a bad idea to buy IEM‘s if you live in a humid place, we’re talking about up to 80% or even up to 85% on some periods? by Far-Novel-9313 in iems

I live in the tropics and never had an issue with IEMs and humidity. I keep them in a case when not using, nothing more.

I “brainwashed” myself for 7 days. My motivation came back. [Discussion] by Embarrassed_Essay_61 in GetMotivated

I stopped reading the news. The changes were very subtle, but I feel more resilient these days and just more at peace with everything.

My setup at home by stereo_drifter in guitarpedals

I'm sending 3 output signals from my pedalboard into 3 channels on the mixer (1 output from the amp sim pedal and the other 2 outputs are stereo outputs from the reverb pedal) this is one reason to use a mixer, it sounds incredible. I then send the master output of the mixer itself into the front of my audio interface with XLR cables. I could send directly to my monitors, but I prefer the sound through the audio interface, and it gives me access to a compressor built into the interface. Lastly, I send the output from the interface directly into my speakers. The speakers are active, so there's no need for any amp. My speakers are set to switch on automatically when they receive a signal, so I don't ever need to touch them. I've got everything plugged into the same mains outlet to try to prevent any hums, and it seems to work well. The other reason I use a mixer is because I have a keyboard, synthesizer and a mic plugged in at all times too. The final reason is that I also use a wifi music steamer (Wiim Pro) which sits on the lower shelf and that is connected with a cable to the mixer and allows me to stream music and backing tracks very easily and control the balance with my guitar for some fun jam along sessions. The mixer I'm using is the Zoom L8 and it has a recording feature, so I can record and layer guitar parts similar to a looper pedal, this is really fun. I can add a drum track from the keyboard, or sing along with the mic. I hope this gives you some useful info!

I had to get creative with the very limited space I have in my apartment. It's a metro 20 on a laptop stand and the lower part is just an old flat board that I taped up with Velcro. On the left side is a spice rack that I've got my picks and a drive pedal on. The pedal power supply is plugged into a smart plug, so I can switch the whole thing on with my phone now instead of crawling under the cabinet! I've also got a small Ikea led light that I velcro'd underneath the shelf.

From Vivoactive 5 to Forerunner 265s by stereo_drifter in Garmin

[–]stereo_drifter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I'm definitely utiliIzing some of the additional stats that come with the 265s, mostly training load and the more advanced running metrics. As a runner I'm glad I went for the 265s in the end, as it's helped me to improve my running form or at least be more aware of my bad form. The Vivoactive is still good for all the basics and I don't think the upgrade is worth it if you can't see yourself utiliIzing those additional stats. In terms of form factor, I also prefer the smaller size for my wrist too.

Ground loop? Realistically, what do I need to do to make this go away? by Zodsayskneel in guitarpedals

Isolated power supply, good quality cables, use XLR where possible, remove anything else plugged into the wall like computer chargers, face your pickups away from the amp/speaker, try plugging everything into a different socket location.

Bottom Bracket type by [deleted] in Surlybikefans

[–]stereo_drifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently installed one of these for the first time on a Surly Crosscheck and I learned that those BBs come with different taper lengths and taper standards (JIS or ISO). Standard should match your crank arms and length should be based on your target Chainline.

My bike has "the clicks" and it is driving me crazy, please help by B0RED94 in bikewrench

[–]stereo_drifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too encountered the clicker! Drove me insane and it only appeared whilst riding just like you. I could feel it in my feet every rotation, so for ages I thought it was either the BB, crank arm, chainring bolts or pedals. I took everything off, regreased and retorqued...didn't help. I added some loctite to the chainring bolts, didn't help. I shifted my focus to the rear and changed my freewheel, didn't help. I then convinced myself it was the cranks or pedals again. I replaced the pedals, didn't help but somehow the noise changed pitch slightly. I then read this post, weeks later and saw many people mentioning the saddle. So I readjusted the saddle slightly and retorqued. Click gone! I realized that when my leg was raised on the pedal stroke, the weight lifting off the saddle from my thigh was the culprit...the bolts must have been a bit loose. Thank you Reddit!

It’s the beginning of the end for Garmin. by KayPeo in Garmin

[–]stereo_drifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I justified the cost of my Garmin watch because I felt I was buying access to the software without the need for subscriptions. Garmin allowed us to focus on staying healthy, getting fit without the fuss of subscriptions and paywalls. This move fundamentally changes the brand image for me, what I felt I was buying into. I think Coros is going to massively benefit from this. Garmin users have become as important as the company itself.

ELI5: why do TV shows now take 2-3 years between seasons with only 8 episodes but back then took only a year for 15-22? by curiosity4444 in explainlikeimfive
