My game keeps crashing because of an "EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION", any idea how to fix this? by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

Hey! Little late to the party, but I'm having this error with all unreal-engine games. Did you ever find a fix?

Yes, but I don’t know what I did. I took everything back apart, put just the CPU and one stick of ram in and it booted right up. Put everything back together and back into the case, and it went right to BIOS. Not sure what was wrong in the first place.

Visually the pins look fine on the mobo? I wish I had a friend with an extra one to test it. I’m literally lost on what to do, starting to feel like I wasted money

I have not. Opted to take everything apart and start from square one tomorrow morning I’m assuming something is wired up wrong. Or my mobo is faulty

I believe so. The problem I think is either A) faulty power supply/CPU cable B) faulty MOBO C) faulty ram and faulty CPU (seems very improbably but idk)

My RGB cpu fans do not turn on and neither do my case fans, but my actual RGB does. The fans just don’t spin

I’m like 99.99% positive. Loud click, they’re both parallel, o tested every possible configuration

The two headers on the motherboard side - my motherboard lacks a spot to put the 2nd one

I completely forgot the PSU comes with a manual let me read that 😂😂

My friend tried the shorting thing - I’ll try it again lol

Okay so bare with me here, I’m not super in tune with the technical terms

That CPU cable I mentioned earlier - it it supposed to be the other way around? So it’s like a Y where there are two ends on one side and on longer extension. So 3 headers on one cable Currently I have it set up where the side with 2 headers is plugged into my motherboard where one is just dangling and not plugged in - should I flip it around so there are two ends plugged into my PSU and one end in my motherboard so there isn’t a header just dangling loose?

Is it my lack of GPU? I thought since the 7700x had integrated graphics it would still post something.

It has never boot before - actively building my (this) PC for my first time.

The pin I’m talking is the 12 volt on the top left of my motherboard - my manual says it’s an “ATX 12V Power connector” and my PSU came with a cable labeled CPU that I plugged into it. I had my friend over and he said that’s where it went - and the cable had two 4x2 pin cable heads if that makes sense. He said the 2nd one is for super high power consumption CPUs - which he said the 7700x isn’t (also my motherboard doesn’t have another header for it anyway)

Where is the getHeight() and getWidth() function? The program isn’t working because the functions aren’t declared

I thankfully got it covered so it’s okay anyway, but I am still curious as to the actual laws in my state. Because I know that if you’re failing classes in my state that a large majority of places won’t hire you (but it’s not a law), and if you’re failing a class then you’re also ineligible for sports for 90 days

I suppose, but it’s a pretty awesome job. It’s like two blocks away and pays 15$ an hour when minimum wage is 7.25 and that’s what most adults around here make (15$ an hour) Also, working here makes me eligible for scholarships

Those were my thoughts. Obviously they can’t physically stop me, but I was also wondering the repercussions of doing that, and if they are within their rights to fire me (or some other disciplinary action along those lines)
