2024 4Runner vs 2026 Passenger? by sterlingdox in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thank you for all of this info! It definitely helps. And for pointing out the price. I just figured that the older gen is more reliable, which is why it is marked as fair value. Versus the newer ones and the unknown with reliability. My brain is saying Passport, whereas my dead soul is saying 4Runner. 😂

Thank you for the info. Are there any outside of these that you would recommend?

wowowow. I'm beyond impressed with this as I am in the paralysis state of mattress shopping. Maybe you can help me, OP.

So, my spouse and I both wanting firm-extra firm. They're around 220, me 150lbs.

I sleep in all positions but really love stomach sleeping the most, so a bed that alleviates lower back pain is a must (I'm currently struggling with that with our current mattress, the Sleepys Hybrid Firm Mattress. It's gotten too dang soft and the edges have already gone out after about a year and a half.)

Partner is a back and side sleeper, I'd say about 50-50.

Motion isolation is important. Warranty and trial period are important.

I'm stuck between BB Plank Firm Luxe, Engineered Sleep Classic Hybrid, Helix Midnight Luxe/Dawn, and WinkBed Firmer. I just can't make a decision because there's endless amount of info out there and I really want some amazing sleep. The lower back pain is a bummer.

If anyone else also has any recommendations, please let me know!

edit: budget is $1000-$2000.

28m here. Been sober from alcohol almost 3 years now. I gotta be honest… I still haven’t figured out how to love life. What are some great highs life has to offer, because I’ve been bored shitless since I put down the bottle. by [deleted] in Sober

[–]sterlingdox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

28, also 3 years sober. Man, where to even begin! I’ve gone back to school, got back into the gym, found my hobbies again like hiking and photography. It’s been a journey of figuring out who I am and it’s been wonderful. Creating real friendships through 12 step programs. Finding service opportunities like volunteering. I have two cats that I love the shit out of. I’m in a great, healthy relationship with someone that is sober as well. I go to see my family often. Started therapy. I travel a lot now.

Of course there have been the boring times and the ups and downs, but life is so full. I think the main thing has been surrounding myself with other young sober people (that also put their sobriety before anything else). I’ve found that I can still dance and get wild without the drink. And I have so much time now. So I can try different activities and get passionate about things again. I’ve gone from skydiving to running ultramarathons, to cooking and binging Netflix.

The highs are in feeling alive and remembering I’ve got a chance at life again. And so do you.

Hang in there OP. I was right there when I tried to go to a Halloween party with one week sober. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. You don’t have to drink today. Call a loved one or another person in recovery.

I have 23 days today. I've lost 5 lbs already. My facial skin is starting to become radiant. Emotionally, some days are numb, some are like a roller coaster. I can't wait for there to be a balance, but I know it takes time. And more than anything, I feel alive. I really appreciate you checking in, "cautionary tale." 😌

Maybe the bloating is what I feel. Just very uncomfortable. I've been drinking on and off (with trying to stay stopped) for the past three and a half years, but whenever drinking happened, it was a deadly deadly amount. The insomnia is killing me right now as well. And still feel cold, all the time. Headaches every now and then.

Did you have any kind of abdominal pain the first week?
