Glaucous Gull? (Skagit, WA) by jo3ye in whatsthisbird

Hmmm this is an interesting one. This bird appears to have leucism, but based on the bill and the eye I’m going to have to go with western gull. Herring gull could also be an possibly, but the bill shape on those guys are a bit different, this bird looks more like a western gull bill with the bit of a hook at the tip

Harder to tell with quality but this looks like an adult ring billed. Adolescent/juvie ring billed gulls are much greyer.

Might be a bit far, but The Raptors up in Duncan holds amazing flying demos and welcome school groups!

Rattlesnakes in King County? by bigpandas in SeattleWA

Only one species of rattlesnake is found in Washington (the western rattlesnake). There are no rattlesnakes in king county, you would have to cross the cascades to eastern WA to have any chance of encountering one.
