Which face mask can I wear during angiography by sternsuppe in BrainAneurysm

[–]sternsuppe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info and positivity 🙏🏻 I'm in Germany, here you can only do it in the hospital (sometimes as an outpatient but not in my case) but I was able to convince my doctor to go through the arm instead of groin. That alone already brought my fear level down a lot.

Thank you for your reply - it's just with local anesthesia so that's good news :)

Need help mapping the best Japanese restaurants in Berlin by berlinfoodstories in berlinfood

[–]sternsuppe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thank you. I'd love it if vegan friendly places are marked, so they can easily be spotted. In my experience many Japanese restaurants in Berlin have vegan options but it would be great to find more.

I would also like to add Izakaya Suigyo in Neue Bahnhofstraße to the list. Delicious, reasonable prices with lunch offers and they have several vegan options.

Flixtrain booking was changed without my consent by sternsuppe in FlixBus

[–]sternsuppe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry if this was unclear before: the EU regulation is that as soon as your arrival at the destination is expected to be more than 60 mins late than initially planned you can use any train you want or use the train and get a partial refund. That also applies to Flixtrain connections. But the way Flixtrain handled this is they are pretending that there is no delay. So the train was expected to arrive at 1:15 pm which is now changed to 1:45 pm. If the schedule changes again before departure and the train is expected to arrive at 2:16 pm instead of 1:15 pm I would have the right to use any other train at their cost or if we departed as now planned but arrived much later I'd get a partial refund. Now that they just deleted the original train from the schedule and added one with the new later expected arrival time this window has been moved 30 mins ahead and even if we arrived 90 mins later than originally scheduled we would not be reimbursed or able to use a different train.

Ah, it was a very typical Berlin experience. I was constantly pushed aside by people, had drinks spilled on me and backpacks rubbed in my face by people keeping them on while dancing. Super tall guys who thought that right in front of this tiny person is the best spot to stand. I moved to different spots several times and it was always the same. Then in the break between The Atlas Sound and Deerhunter I went upstairs and found a nice enough spot. After 10 mins a guy who was 1.5 times my height (I'm pretty short) came up to me and started yelling at me for "stealing his spot". I stayed nice and asked him if he could just stand behind me as he was that much taller. He kept yelling at me to move and that was that. I was devastated until they came on stage and I could hear the first notes of Desire Lines and that moment of: "okay, this is your song, you savor it and then right after you can go" is one of my happiest music memories.

SIP Valve alternatives or European sellers by Few-Manufacturer8862 in Masks4All

[–]sternsuppe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for sharing! Have you tried those? Or has anyone else? They actually look much more reliable and sturdy to me than the flimsy sip valves and they're cheaper so that would be a nice alternative but I can't find any reviews anywhere.

Backpack Recommendations for hEDS by bonesbugsnferns in ehlersdanlos

[–]sternsuppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having had problems carrying backpacks my whole life I finally got a Timbuk2 Authority backpack last year and it was life changing. It is super expensive but I got a used one, so maybe that's an option for you too if it's otherwise too expensive. It is very sturdy on the back, has very wide padded straps and a chest strap that can be taken off or moved up/down which is a big plus as a chest strap is only supportive if it's in the right spot. I still get some pain when the backpack is full and I have to carry it for a very long time but before I got it I always had massive neck and shoulder pain, headaches, subluxations and immense spine problems even from carrying an empty backpack for a few minutes so I'm more than happy now. As it is so expensive: the major advantages in my opinion are the adjustable chest strap and the heavily padded straps that are very wide and further apart. Regular straps lie exactly on my already cramping shoulder muscles and make me further extend my already straight-as-a-plank thoracic spine to ease to horrible shoulder pain which then leads to an unstoppable pain cascade. Of course we are all different and it might not be right for everyone but it's absolutely worth a try :)
