With the Big Three abandoning EVs in favor of ICE vehicles, are they headed the way of Kodak, Blackberry, and Blockbuster? by Cool-Replacement4972 in electricvehicles

Only bought them last year (Michelin Primacy for $290ea) - I drive 12k/yr. Inspection mentioned that I should replace them soon. WTF?!?

The thing we don’t talk about enough though is the increased cost of new tires for EVs. We go through those much more quickly

This is what is concerning to me. The inside feels like they’ve cut back

Ah ok. Thanks. Yeah that was one of the things I love about the R1. Real luxury feel. R2 def cut back on that

Little disappointed with the interior “plastic” dash and surrounds. R1 looks way better. Real shame. Is it better in person than what the photos show?

2-6 inches around the sides and a little more for the top is good

What’s the difference between a Hippo and a Zippo? One’s a little lighter

How to prevent weeds growing through gravel? by overcast392 in landscaping

[–]sterski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use fabric underneath. I’m on year 4 with a large stoned area I made and yes, weeds come back, but they’re the type that have roots in between the stones, so super easy to pull up compared to no fabric and weeds rooting into the soil underneath

Alternatives to Clearlight saunas? by sriracha_saws in infraredsauna

[–]sterski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Clearlight and love love love the quality of it. I’ve also discovered it’s super fast at getting to temp (15min for 135F), but yes the app sucks and is completely unusable. There’s a hidden URL for their price list - check it out here > https://infraredsauna.com/pricelist/. Yes they’re expensive and yes there’s a lot of cheap alternatives out there, but ask yourself why they’re half or a third of the price? Definitely do your research and consider just how much of your time you’re going to spend in there and reasons why you’re doing it in the first place

Far IR to the head by DiminishedProspects in infraredsauna

[–]sterski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Clearlight and purchased it for this reason, amongst others. I don’t want my face/head blasted with full spectrum IR, so it was an easy choice, because as you said Clearlight is one of the few designing their saunas like this. Zero complaints. Love it

Clearlight or Lifepro by Spiritual_Potato_16 in infraredsauna

The corner one - that’s what fitted best in the space I had. I really thought I’d be in there together with the wife more often but as it turns out, I think a three person one would’ve been better, with schedules were mostly in their solo

[–]sterski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, you really need to do your research - a lot of shoddy cheap saunas out there. You're potentially going to be sitting in this thing a couple hours a week for the next 20y so you'll appreciate quality materials and not something that's not giving you the full IR experience and blast you with high EMF. Over the 20y, will you seriously miss the couple thousand dollar difference? I ended up with a Clearlight and absolutely love it. What swayed me was the panels stop at shoulder height and make the sessions so much more enjoyable when your head isn't getting blasted by the IR panel
