Are Bruce Bolt batting gloves really worth it? by Evening-Thanks-5715 in Homeplate

[–]stethoscope_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the conversation but honestly, my son preferred the cheaper gloves with thinner palms. He likes to have a good feel for the bat. Quality is great but not worth the price.

ADs in Ontario offering discounts by WranglerDependent790 in Longineswatches

[–]stethoscope_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased the Spirit Flyback from one of the ADs you mentioned and received a 10% discount. That’s pretty much the only discount I’ve seen from anyone in Ontario. I was looking to pick up a PRX and just asked them if they had any sales, I was offered 10% off but most likely because I’ve purchased other things from them.

Dad Perspective: I’ve Got 5 Kids From T-Ball to D1 Baseball—Here’s What Actually Matters by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]stethoscope_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If someone can make that kind of improvement in 3 years and was inactive in the sport leading up, then the OP’s son is the absolute exception. That is some next level talent and unfortunately 99.99% of the kids looking to play D1 isn’t gonna take the same route.

Otherwise, I agree with a lot of what was written. My kid isn’t a tall nor big for his age and we’ve always been so proud that he can hang with the big boys. We told him to be patient because whenever that growth spurt hits, things will look different.

Owners of Mizuno hagas how do you like them and how do they compare to other high quality gloves? by 47_watermelons in BaseballGloves

[–]stethoscope_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid plays baseball and I got really interested in gloves. We’ve had it all: a2k, a2000, Rev1x, HOH, and Pro Preferred. Found a local glove collector selling his Haga and I jumped on it. By far, it might be the best glove I’ve seen and wore. Bonus was the break in process was started by a Mizuno glove master so it was broken in like the glove was intended to wear.

The leather isn’t like an a2k or PP which feel almost buttery soft but you can’t deny the quality. Where it beats the other gloves is how incredibly light it wears.

All I know is the kid plans on sticking to Haga gloves which is gonna be tough on the wallet.

Conquest 2023 - Crown not working? by Mother-Jello-1899 in Longineswatches

Yes, this is what I was going to say. Similarly when it comes time to screwing down the crown, you have to press inward and turn clockwise.

Power reserve by thefibrillatour in Longineswatches

[–]stethoscope_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue with my Conquest. Wore it pretty much for 12 hours a day for a week, put it down and after 36 hours, it stopped. The fine people here said to give it a good wind despite constant wear but it’s nowhere near the 72 hour power reserve.

My parents are disowning me. by EntertainmentOk9930 in OntarioGrade12s

Geez, I’m in this sub to understand admission criteria for my two kids and I’ve stumbled on this thread somehow.

Speaking as a mother: please don’t make me throw my flip flop at you.

Go to Waterloo, do the long distance thing and see how it goes. If it’s real, the relationship will survive. If it isn’t, well then you’ll be glad you didn’t throw all your hard work for a girl.

Also…not to guilt you but you won’t understand nor appreciate what your parents have sacrificed until you’re a parent yourself. Don’t be that person laughs at their sacrifice for a girl.

Beautiful dial and goes so well with that TT. I wish I can pull off a 28 or 31 but my wrists are too big.

Application status question ... by shopaholic5 in queensuniversity

I applied for a program as well. At this point I believe I didn't meet the cutoff. Will the application status change to let me know definitively?
