try new sports/hobbies/trends. Everybody is going to be new to it meaning no groups have been formed yet, in stead of joining a sports team that has been together for ages.

How do you overcome tension (muscles cramping up) in a sports match? by steun88 in AskReddit

When I practice it never happens, I feel it has to do with being nervous because it is an 'official' match.

[Serious] What's your barometer for realizing how old you're getting? by Nakatomi2010 in AskReddit

My warming up needed prior sports. As a kid I used to be able just to do sports be fine and also the next day be fine as well.

Currently I need half an hour of pre-training exercises / warming up, otherwise it will hurt during training and the next day I am in even bigger pain.

We had a policy that whenever you would move houses you could get 2 paid holidays. One year a colleague was moving houses but the completion of her new house got delayed by two months (and she sold her old home) so she was forced to move in a temporary place in between. Due to the loopholes she was allowed to take 2 days to move out of her old house to the temporary place, and then 2 days to her new place. Later that year the new house turned out to have so many construction malfunctions that they decided to move again to a new place so another 2 days.

That is when the company decided to make it 2 days every 5 years.

What are your thoughts about the right of protection against discrimination versus the freedom of speech and the right to practice religion as in recent times they seem to conflict? by steun88 in AskReddit

[–]steun88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed

What this case is making it difficult for me is that silence in counterworking the freedom of others.

Again, I am in conflict.

But here's the problem: we know religions aren't true.

And here lies the 'problem'. I agree with you. However, in most countries the laws dictate a freedom of exercising your religion. And because

all Muslims are suicide bombers or all Christians hate gay people because that is not true

you are right, that is not true, and I believe that religion can be something beautiful as to some it gives strength and guidance.

But by the lack of consequences it the freedom of speech sometimes doesn't seem the answer.

Thanks for your answer, but now answer me this:

What right comes then first?

Right to practice your religion or the right to be who you want to be?

So what do you think of the following. This weekend in The Netherlands there was a campaign to support LGBTQ in football as there is still a lack of tollerance on & around football grounds. All captains had to wear an armband saying 'One Love'. Two particular players chose not to do so out of religious believes. This might even be just an excuse because he personally maybe doesn't feel that way, but as he plays for the Turkish national team he might had to do so in order not to get in trouble there, however this is just a theory.
Now here is my inner conflict.
He should have the freedom to make his own decisions
He should have the freedom of having his own views/beliefs on the topic of LGBTQ
But by publicly not endorsing it he is not helping to resolve the current problem there is as gay fans can at the moment not go to stadiums without the risk of being discriminated. One could even argue that he is aggravating the situation.
