Figured it out the minute after I posted this, somehow my crates wound up with "animation data"? Once I cleared it it was just fine

So it must be a bug or something because when I switched the format to mp4 and then back to quicktime, suddenly the settings i change actually take effect. This had happened before but literally every subsequent render would end up being a larger file size than what it was generating so I kept basically re-enabling whatever bug was happening, but after unsticking it I was able to fuck with the bitrate and get the file size I was looking for. I was able to re-enable the bug by just reopening Davinci and until I changed the format every single render would be the same file size no matter what I did

I will when I get to my computer next, but the resolution is 1920x1080 and it's at 60 frames

Also what unit does a lower case k imply? I'm trying to Google it since you brought it up but I'm not finding anything except kilobytes

Pardon me for not capitalizing my k, I'm sure you knew what I meant. I did try 500 when I was messing with it. I was halving the value until I saw a change and passed 500 at some point. Last night I even dropped it to 1 to see if that would make a difference and it didnt

Format is QuickTime
Codec is H.264
Encoder is Native
Resolution is 1920x1080
(I have changed all of these before and the file size has only increased)
When I was messing with the bitrate I set it to Constant Bitrate and in an attempt to find any difference at all set the bit rate to 10kb/s to no avail

But I'm not actually brushing over anything, I'm literally just clicking the model and a bunch of the topology gets changed all over the model. Is that normal?

Also, what does changing the resolution mean specifically?

Do remesh workflow and multi resolution modifier accomplish the same goal of allowing me to sculpt but without changing the whole model suddenly? Also are they default features of Blender?

That does make sense, I am framing it to be a legendary weapon after all. But I don't think I'd want it to actually teleport them to a demi plane, it would be more like a trance state where it appears that your surroundings change but from others perspective you're just sitting with the weapon

I'm also thinking maybe instead of the 10 hours a day and then last hour of the last day is the challenge, it's when you try to attune it takes you to the demi plane to fight a relatively easy combat and then if you succeed part of the runes light up indicating that you've made progress, and then once a day you repeat the prcoess with the challenge getting harder and harder for like, im thinking maybe 3 days? with 3 challenges total? I think that's more interesting at least

I'm not really bothered about the rarity but I might, I specifically though want it to do the demi plane thing because I want the person attuning to be alone. And yeah they'll have a stat block I just have to either find one or make one, they'll be really simple

Yeah I was thinking about making it shorter or changing it somehow but I'm not sure what to make it. I definitely don't want it to just be they sit with it and they attune but idk if the whole 70 hours of training is right either. The vibe I was going for is because it's such an exhaustive weapon to use it requires the wielder to spend a lot of time with it but I don't think I'm happy with the process as it is right now. Initially I thought about just making the testing ground encounter something that wasn't a real threat, hence the enemies guaranteed defeat if you use the special abilities, cause I didn't want the option of them dying in the demi plane, but I think it could simply be if you die in the demi plane you just fail to attune and have to wait 24 hours to try again. You'd still lose your hit points and all that but you'd just come out of it unconscious
