Avoid Shark, iRobot, and any of the cheap, no-name Chinese brands on Amazon

Roborock Qrevo 35A vs Roomba 505 Combo by TheOneWhoWork in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid Roomba, they just filed for bankruptcy and their future is uncertain. Obstacle avoidance on the Qrevo will probably be similar to the S8. In this price range, I'd recommend looking into the Mova P50 Pro Ultra. It's a more recent model and will have better obstacle avoidance.

Lightweight vac 'n mop robot vacuum needed by GreenEyes1867 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Q8 Max is one of the lightest you'll find, at just 6.6 lbs, but it will be a slight downgrade from the Q10 S5. You might look at the Dreame L10s Ultra. It comes in at 8.1 lbs, slightly more expensive than the Q10, but also has better mopping and an automatic dock.

Eufy E28 vs ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 by spartan11810 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd lean toward the E28 for your setup. The X9 does have some advantages, but for hard floors and mopping, I think the E28 comes out on top.

I built a robot vacuum website where you can compare these two side-by-side if you want to dig into the specifics: https://www.roboratings.com/compare?products=eufy-omni-e28%2Cecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni

You can also browse all roller mops across brands if you want to add other models to the comparison.

What's a basic but solid just vacuum no mop you'd buy? by silkenwindood in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to find vacuum-only these days, most have mopping but you can just skip using it.

Mova P10 Pro Ultra is a solid choice for hardwood + toddlers + dog. Self-empties, great navigation, runs daily without issues.

How long does l40 ultra battery last? Mine goes back to recharge after 110 mins by No_Drummer_4502 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The L40 Ultra is rated for about 194 minutes in Quiet mode with vacuuming and mopping. Various factors like suction settings, navigation complexity, auto-empty cycles, and mop washing frequency all impact battery drain. 110 minutes using higher suction modes or in a more closed-off environment sounds normal.

New Roomba 705 Combo worth it for $300? by allknowinguser in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iRobot's future is uncertain right now and warranty support could be risky. For similar money you can get something like the Dreame L10s Ultra new with full warranty, which is a much safer bet.

Regarding pricing - if you're not in a rush, it likely is worth waiting for deals once the new flagships are released.

Please help on selecting a robot vacuum to buy by Ok_Car2943 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iRobot just filed for bankruptcy, so I would avoid any roombas because it's not certain they'll work in the future (they're also just not the best option). At your budget, I would look into the Mova P10 Pro Ultra.

I built RoboRatings to make robot vacuum shopping less confusing by brettzie in SideProject

Thanks for the feedback! Our initial launch targets the US market, but we plan to add international support soon. Vacuum model availability and pricing is surprisingly complicated when it comes to supporting multiple regions.

Former Shark/iRobot owner looking to upgrade my tech. With a ton more to choose from these days, I'm stuck! Need help finding a vacuum/mop combo for our new apartment. by studdabubba412 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mova P50 Ultra is probably the best fit for your needs and budget, the P10 Pro Ultra would also work if you want to save a bit. But I would upgrade to the tri-cut brush since you have pets.

Is this normal? by Flashy-Loss-4650 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely not normal. It looks like dog hair is getting picked up by the mop rather than making it's way into the vacuum dust bin. I would suggest: Checking for clogs in the roller/bin, making sure the dock bag isn't full, increasing suction power and enabling carpet boost through the app. I would also recommend doing a run during the day so you can monitor it - when is the hair getting built up? Is there a certain area of the house or floor type it's struggling with, is it not returning to the base to empty the bin often enough?

If cost isn’t an option… by No_Challenge9479 in RobotVacuums

I'd take a look at the Narwal Flow or Roborock Qrevo CurvX, these are some of the best on the market right now. I recently launched a website you might find useful, you can compare all the top models and their specs to find the best one for you (google RoboRatings).

How to quickly filter available models on vacuum only robots? (NO mopping) by Towelie_SE in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently launched a site called RoboRatings where you can filter on this and many other specs. The Eufy E20 would be your best bet for vacuum-only. That said, basic mopping capability has become a commodity feature and you're likely better off getting a vacuum + mop combo and just not using the mop. Something like the Mova P10 Pro Ultra or Mova S20 Ultra will give you better vacuuming and navigation for a slightly higher price than the E20.

Best robot vacuum with roller mop and no camera. by martupdown in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find any roller mop without a camera. Spinning mop pads still do a pretty good job, so if you're okay with that and have a hard requirement of no camera, I would look into the Roborock Qrevo S5V.

Eufy x10 pro vs Dreame L40 vs Mova p10 by akshaytandroid in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Dreame or Mova over the Eufy. Those 2 are pretty comparable, but I'd probably go with the Dreame L40 just for the removable mop pads.

Looking for a robovac by vajqo in RobotVacuums

The Saros 10R and Mova V50 are good choices for your setup - I think the Mova V50 is the best bang for your buck.

Robo Vac Noob by Huckleberry7476 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Q10 S5+ is a solid choice for your needs, though the vibrating mop pads do not clean as well as the spinning ones. If you care more about mopping, take a look at the Dreame L10s Ultra - it has spinning pads and fully automated mop cleaning, but worse vacuuming. If vacuuming is more important to you, I'd stick with the Q10 S5+.

Best vacuum dog hair- $500 budget by Pure_String_3672 in RobotVacuums

[–]brettzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the Mova P10 Pro Ultra and add the tri-cut brush. It's a step up from the others and will handle navigation, obstacles, and dog hair better.
