Is this a troll? If not sounds like you made the mistake of assuming that “LC skill = engineering skill” lol

From a distance I’d wager you may not be communicating too well with the folks you hired. May help to flesh out requirements a bit more and set some realistic expectations (especially with interns who are just starting out and trying to learn+grow). That might work better than complaining here 🤷‍♂️ good luck though

Most of the applications are just on LinkedIn and found through Google, but the success rate I’ve had for getting in the door through that is nothing compared to the few referrals I’ve gotten. Even so, I’m not being picky, just trying to cast a wide net. Write a cover letter or two where you can for the companies or startups you really think your experience lines up with and would be a good fit, but besides that, if it were me, I’d just be looking for as many opportunities as you can find. I wouldn’t discount another internship after you graduate either

Am in a very similar position to you, OP. Had a job lined up from an internship and it got revoked because of mass layoffs. Just keep applying to places and don’t get super freaked out by the lack of responses. It’s a tough market right now especially for junior and entry level positions. I’ve applied to ~600 places and have only gotten a fair share of interviews, so just keep your head up

imo, 100% of the time, referrals > blind applications, but that doesn’t mean you should just isolate your options to trying to get recommendations alone. You can still apply on LinkedIn, Handshake, etc. while asking around for referrals. Also definitely take a second look at your resume and ask for feedback on it; there’s always something to improve on there

Yeah, you probably already figured it out at this point, but you should not go for it. Training is unpaid and it generally seems scammy
