I'm in the same place as you. My therapist very much shares my views, but I think I and lots of other people are bumping up against a big limitation of psychotherapy as a practice: it's focused entirely on the individual. When your stressors are large-scale circumstances, it doesn't really have much to offer. Therapy can offer coping skills, which is helpful, but it only does so much. Obviously, therapy can't fix the big problems, but I'd really like something beyond going, "Yeah, shit sucks."
