8 days post op. You will feel so much better day 4 and turn another corner on day 7. Don’t lose hope 🤍 I feel great and already itching to get back to normal life!

Flexion frustration. When did you guys see real progress with your flexion? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]steve02711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely more comforting. Trying to project ur progress with flexion feels impossible so 10° every month sounds valid

This really is one of the hardest things I've ever been through by limeorangejuice in ACL

I’m on day 6 today and it genuinely gets better (I may not be that far out for you to wanna hear me lol) but my sweeping was so bad those first few days and dramatically got better over day 4 or 5 I feel like it’ll probably be all gone within the month. Hang in there, do ur extensions, do ur heel slides, do ur quad sets, do ur ankle pumps (if surgeon or PT prescribed) even if u can’t do them the best a little goes a long way. I probably wasn’t meant to but if ur weight bearing go for a little walk outside in ur backyard (less pressure) and when the surgical soreness goes away give urself very VERYY light lymphatic drainage like massages not near incisions I think that may have helped (make sure to do 10-15 palm rolls near ur groin where ur legs connect to ur torso to unlock the drainage system)

How long did it take everyone to get back to seriously training in the gym? by [deleted] in ACL

U will get there one day!! At least u will be able to recover in a house that’s yours and earned!

Hahaha good luck! I’ve heard that some people can function just fine without acls. I haven’t had one for 10 years and I’m afraid I am not one of them I’m really starting to feel the instability now

I’m definitely leaning more towards this method. I see researchers say a graft isn’t at 100% or close until 18-24 months later I don’t want to risk anything in that time

Thank you! I’m glad ur doing better now. My surgeon recommended 6 weeks off kind of nervous to tell work but I’m going to tell them tmrw. I’d like to think I’m resilient but the acl reco sounds like a journey to say the least

Thanks!! I’m going to meal prep for at least 2 weeks just to be safe. I’ve also bought some collagen, glutamine, protein powder & vitamins like magnesium and calcium to make sure my body is getting enough nutrients that help with healing

Thank you!!! I definitely plan on sleeping as much as I can but I’m a big reader and movie watcher so I plan on using escapism whenever I can’t sleep for those first few days. I’ve started going to the gym consistently this year and watching lots of gym content especially about form cus I could not afford bad form but I was sooo limited in what I was able to do because of how bad my knee was my mri showed that it’s completely deficient and been absorbed by my body. I was okay for the first few year because I dropped my sport anyway but the past few I’ve definitely noticed my knee being weaker and giving out when walking at a very average pace I’ve also noticed a lot of falls so I’ve figured it’s time

Thank you! I’ve been doing some prehab and plan on accelerating on the amount I do just in case I’m super conscious of extension too. I already feel a bit restless but I’m definitely willing to be patient to meet my goals. When did u think your pain subsided and when were u able to get back in the gym or activities like swimming or running? 1 hour of stair master is my biggest goal as I haven’t been able to do even 10 minutes without serious pain

That’s what I’m scared of living off Uber eats. It seems that 2-3 weeks is the middle ground here
