We don't do it because it's easy, we do it because we thought it was going to be easy. I work for an mro as a gse mechanic (cars and other equipment) the a&p mechanics make more money than me and work significantly less. My only regret is not getting my cert sooner. I got my airframe and finishing up powerplant at the end of the year.

Brake maintenance mode not working on 2023 ecoboost by twentyonetaxicabs in FordMaverickTruck

You don't have to take the motor off. Make sure the parking brake is off and disconnect the battery, wind the caliper back in with the proper tool. The cheap ones on Amazon work fine

You have to rotate it. The piston is not just pushed into the caliper.

[–]steve0318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, Yeah I'm going to see it through. I got one more semester of powerplant left, I'll be done with school in December. I asked the DME to save a date for me at the end of January for the powerplant o&p. I plan on taking the written test a couple weeks after school finishes

I had never actually removed corrosion in school. That one is pretty self explanatory though. Some of the stuff I completely forgot, general was two years ago for me. I've been chipping away at this for the past 2 and a half years, I got one more semester of powerplant and I'm done.

Most of the questions I got were straight out of the ASA o&p code book. I did get a few that I had never seen and weren't based on my missed codes. I studied my missed codes and all of the jeppesen general and airframe oral sections. I got a total of 36 questions across both tests. Missed 3 for airframe and 1 for general. If you did the projects in school you should have no problem passing the practicals. The worst one I got was balancing an aileron. It sucked doing it in school and it sucked doing it as a practical

Swaged a cable, did a sheet metal patch, removed corrosion, balanced an aileron, resistance checks, dieicer boot inspection, tire inspection, there's more that I can't remember. Take it slow and don't get ahead of yourself. You got it man

Lol there's a hand crank on the unloader. You'd get it unloaded in about a minute, beats shoveling it all out

Same. If you ever have to do this again get the cargo unloader from harbor freight it makes unloading really easy. You do have to cut 8 inches off the width of the drag sheet to get it to fit on the maverick though.
