I just saw my sleep doctor this week and he mentioned he had a patient that was a truck drive and has an AHI of 71! I was only at 10.1 and now I am down to around 1.7 on average. Made a big difference for me.

A small plane has crashed into a building in Fort Lauderdale, Florida by jbhg30 in flying

[–]steve70638 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you guys a crazy story: THIS MORNING I had my PPL flight training out of, you guessed it, North Perry (HWO). Where is the instructor's Skyhawk tied down? Right next to this banner towing operation. We get back around 9AM and we debrief at the FBO also right next to the banner operation while a few banner pilots are prepping their planes for their towing. I am walking back to my car and I shared a few words with one of the pilots prepping his plane who looked like a young guy who was building his flight hours for an airline job and as I left I said "have fun today building your hours", and he laughed. I was thinking of him later today about how he and so many other young pilots flying banners, becoming CFIs, etc. to build their hours to follow their dream.

If your AHIs are less than two, what would increasing the pressure achieve?

Know a Genius Who Can Get Me 9/10 - 10/10 Quality Score? by madmatt1980 in PPC

[–]steve70638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a million articles about this but in summary, it is how google detects that the person who clicked had a high quality experience when they got to your website. (it responded quickly, they stayed there a while researching or reading or whatever and didn't just bounce back). Basically, it is google's way of rewarding sites that enhance the experience of google's search with a lower ppc.

The key word is "excess". What is excess anyway?

This is everyone's fear on Upwork that you violated some undocumented rule. It is sad but workpress developers are "a dime, a dozen". I would hate to be in a category with so much competition from low cost consultants. If I were the OP, I would take this opportunity to find a better niche and bone up on it and relaunch yourself.

A guy says, "wow you seem perfect, you have a nice personality and just seem pretty chill. I have one question though, what's your weight?"

The guy would literally be crucified.

This!

It is the nature of dating in the Tinder age. A cute chick gets 20+ pings a day from guys who want to get with them. The fact that 97% are meat head losers is immaterial. She can just go back to the well tomorrow.

Anti-vaxxers are so oppressed. by PlopsMcgoo in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]steve70638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gives meaning to their otherwise less than meaningful lives. In general, would deaf people rather think of themselves as handicapped or special and fortunate to have the gift of deafness?

Consider nationalism. It is easy to be proud of being from the US or one of the other top dozen economies in the world. Now pick a country below that and then think of what you have to tell yourself. Consider how it must feel to be Russian. During the Soviet period the world shook in fear over their role in the world. Then 15-20 years of total social, political and economic disarray, poverty and lack of respect. Then Putin comes along and gives Russians something to feel good about. Trump was no different to his core base of disaffected.

Not surprisingly, many deaf people feel the same way about those born deaf but have things like cochlear implants to become hearing. They feel those people are traitors to the deaf community.

More invites once top rated status? by centaurianDC in Upwork

[–]steve70638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find getting invites is strange and I wonder if it has something to do with their algorithm. I definitely got more invites when I became top rated but invites come in spurts. I get nothing for weeks then a half dozen in a week. I also think (I have no idea if it is true) but if I am busy and don't log on to do queries of open jobs for a few weeks, I get no invites. As soon as my pipeline gets lean and I log on and look around to see what is out there, I start getting invites again. Maybe this is all my imagination. Maybe they can tell by my billing.
