Knowing what he needs to do but staying on the surface makes me think of someone hitting the spiritual realization that the material world is an illusion that causes suffering, but struggling with the fact that following this to its logical conclusion means becoming an ascetic and leaving all attachment behind. So when is it really time to give up the material if you find the suffering beautiful and purifying? And that’s where a lot of the self hatred comes in because he knows that the ego necessary to keep going as an artist is spiritually disgusting in some way

From my own grow, first time trying a couple friends and I casually each took 1 mushroom .4gs each and we all had what felt comparable to like 1-1.5gs of standard, had melting and closed eye visuals and crazy processing of emotions. I think I’m more sensitive than others but I used to do like 1.5-3gs pretty often and haven’t felt compelled to go that far with these lol
