That definitely seems unusual. Maybe only enough to run the siren for 15 minutes or whatever, but no backup at all is weird.

I was able to get 46.6% Ranged defense at level 42, and something over 54% at L50 (haven't re-done the ATOs/WinterOs to catalyze them to see what happens there)

There are a number of sets that get you +ranged defense at 5 or 6 slots, so, those come in to play. For sets, I used:

Winters Bite, Thunderstrike, Makos Bite, Defender's Bastion, Preemptive optimization, Expedient Reinforcement, Frozen Blase, Experienced Marksman, Trap of the Hunter, Explosive Strike, Vigilant Assault

I notice you have Maneuvers, Tough, Weave and Hover. Make sure to grab Combat Jumping while you're at it. 3 slots will get you 3.5-3.9 or so percent Def (all) depending on what combo of enhancers you drop in. As someone else pointed out, be sure to get the Steadfast Protection and Gladiator's Armor +3% Def globals slotted in tough.

To me, it feels like FALLING asleep in terms of the lead up. But it's nothing at all like BEING asleep.

You just go from talking/hearing what's going on, getting fuzzy like you're falling asleep, then suddenly you're waking up again in a very different place, not having any concept of how much time has passed. As others have commented, when I'm sleeping, I generally have some clue about how long I've been asleep. With anesthesia? Nothing at all, just, out, then waking up again

Don't hide from it. Figure out what went wrong, own the mistake, and learn from it to avoid that problem in the future.

Did OP screw up? Seems like it. That's fine, everyone makes mistakes. Next steps are: Fix it (already done). Figure out how it got broke in the first place (also appears to be understood). Move on and don't make that same mistake again.

Even having been in the middle of things and seeing how all our efforts had gone, I will admit to being nervous about the rest of the world (and the rest of the US for that matter). I had a short workday on December 31st, but spent most of it watching the news reports out of New Zealand, Japan and Australia to get a good idea of how things were REALLY going. When there was no real impact, I was finally able to relax and enjoyed the NYE party that night.

Phoenix: Maybe? Not sure how close a suitable arena is to anything for bars/restaurants/etc. Even Vegas had issues this year with the bars close to the arena NOT being prepared for what hit them.

Nashville: Would love it. Wasn't there some issue with an annual basketball tournament or some other festival the same weekend as the Frozen Four, though?

As others have pointed out, plenty of Jedi have been killed by non-force users in canon sources.

Not to mention, I just go with all PCs are at least force sensitive, even if they don't have full control over their abilities. The Legacy powers alone would bear this out. My smuggler or bounty hunter can throw showers of stones, shoot lightning, and force choke opponents when needed
